    • On base four times Friday
Arozarena went 1-for-2 with three walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 10-8 win over the Mets.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder has had a brutal start to 2024 that includes what would be a career-high 29.1 percent strikeout rate and a career-low .455 OPS, but Arozarena came through with a solid performance in a wild win. His fourth-inning long ball off Dedniel Nunez was his fourth homer in 32 games to go along with four steals, and Arozarena has contributed a respectable 14 runs and 15 RBI despite his woeful .145/.242/.265 slash line. • Altuve drives in run, steals base in win over M’s
Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in a win Friday over the Mariners.

Advice: Altuve hit a perfect safety squeeze to knock in his 12th run of the game and give Houston a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning. The steal was the seventh of the season and 300th of his career. Altuve has been sensational thus far in 2024, and is playing near — if not at — the MVP level he reached not all that long ago. • Launches fifth homer
McMahon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 29-year-old led off the sixth inning by hammering a Martin Perez changeup out of PNC Park completely and into the Allegheny River, becoming only the second Colorado player in history to accomplish the feat after Todd Helton back in 2001. Three of McMahon's five homers this year have come in the last eight games, and the power surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .319/.407/.513 with 13 runs and 19 RBI in 32 contests. • Ryan McMahon goes 2-for-5, homers in win
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-5 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Both hits were against a lefty in Martín Pérez. If McMahon were on a better team, he’d probably be a platoon player at this point, as he was bad against lefties in 2022 and even worse last season. This year, though, he’s batting .350 with two homers in 40 at-bats versus southpaws. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

    • Randy Arozarena blasts mammoth homer as Rays win
Randy Arozarena blasted a 445-foot home run on Friday, helping to power the Rays to a 10-8 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Wearing the Rays’ new city connect uniforms for the first time, the slumping 29-year-old outfielder appeared to be re-energized. He drew a walk in the third inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Jackson. Arozarena then demolished a 1-1 fastball from Dedniel Nunez in the fourth inning, belting his 445-foot (109.1 mph) solo shot. He also walked in the sixth and eighth innings, finishing the night 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Even with the strong night though, Arozarena is still hitting a pitiful .145/.242/.265 on the season with four homers, 10 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:41 pm

    • Hitting off tee
Murphy (oblique) began hitting off the tee during Atlanta's most recent series against Seattle earlier this week, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: It's the first time Murphy has swung the bat since landing on the 10-day IL on March 30 with a Grade 1 left oblique strain. Prior to the series in Seattle, Murphy was limited to light throwing and catching work in the bullpen. The 29-year-old has taken a positive step in his program, but he still has a ways to go before starting a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:53 pm

    • Sean Murphy (oblique) takes swings off a tee
Sean Murphy (oblique) took swings off of a tee while the Braves were in Seattle.

Advice: It’s a small step, but it’s at least a step in the right direction for the hard-hitting backstop. Everything went well with that swinging session and the club will continue to ramp him up from there. There’s still no clear timetable for when he may be able to return. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:37 pm

    • Won't make another rehab start
Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Pivetta (elbow) does not need to make another rehab start, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Pivetta surrendered four runs over three-plus innings during his lone rehab start at Triple-A Worcester on Thursday. Despite his subpar performance, the Red Sox will waste no time returning the 31-year-old right-hander to their rotation, which has already been hit hard by injuries this season. Pivetta has given up one earned run across 11 innings through two starts this year, and he appears in line to make his return in Atlanta on Tuesday or Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:00 pm

    • Makes rehab start
Pivetta (elbow) allowed four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five over three-plus innings for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.

Advice: Pivetta threw 62 pitches in the first and possibly only start while on a rehab assignment. He ran into immediate trouble, walking the first two batters of the game then giving up three straight singles. He settled in after that, retiring the next nine batters, before he was pulled following another two walks to lead off the fourth inning. "Repertoire felt good, just wasn't throwing a ton of strikes," Pivetta told Tommy Cassell of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. "I have some mechanical adjustments to work on but we'll be fine." Red Sox manager Alex Cora previously indicated Pivetta would need just one rehab start, and if that's the case, the right-hander is on schedule for next week's two-game set against Atlanta on Tuesday or Wednesday.
