      Advice: Peña came up huge for the Astros with a three-run homer off Freddy Peralta that gave the Astros their 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. The shortstop has enjoyed a strong first six-plus weeks of the season, as he’s gone deep five times while slashing .326/.364/.469.     • Freddy Peralta allows eight hits, five runs in loss
      Freddy Peralta was charted for five runs over five innings while picking up a loss to the Astros on Friday.

      Advice: Both Hunter Brown and Peralta gave up all of their damage via the long-ball in this contest, and in Peralta’s case, he gave up a two-run homer to Jake Meyers and a three-run blast to Jeremy Peña. Outside of those blasts the right-hander was mostly effective, but damage done. It’s the second time in five starts he’s allowed at least five runs, and a 1.90 ERA on April 19 has ballooned to 4.17.     • Chris Bassitt allows three earned runs in loss
      Chris Bassitt pitched 5 ⅔ innings and allowed three earned runs on Friday in a loss to the Rays. He struck out five and walked three.

      Advice: Bassitt just can’t seem to get on track this season. He unraveled in the sixth inning, the third time through the Rays’ order, with Richie Palacios’ two-run homer chasing him.       Springer went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

      Advice: Back in the leadoff spot, Springer reached base multiple times for the first time in 12 games, something he last accomplished April 26. It's been a tough season so far for the veteran outfielder, and through 166 plate appearances Springer is slashing a sluggish .201/.277/.295 with three homers, seven steals, six RBI and 14 runs.       Murphy (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment next week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The catcher has been out since Opening Day after suffering an oblique strain, and Atlanta has taken things slowly with him so far. Murphy now appears to be in the final stages of his recovery, but given the amount of time he's missed, his rehab assignment could last more than just a few days.       Pepiot (leg) threw a bullpen session Tuesday and is likely to throw a simulated game in the near future, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The exact next steps for Pepiot are unclear, but he is on the road with the team and is still aiming to return after a minimum term on the 15-day injured list.     • Jeremy Peña collects two hits in win over Athletics
      Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 3-0 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

      Advice: Peña led off the fourth inning with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mauricio Dubón. He later started the sixth inning with a single, but was stranded on the bases.     • Locks down fifth save
      Scott earned the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers, allowing two hits while striking out one in a scoreless inning.

      Advice: The Tigers made things interesting with a pair of two-out singles off Scott in the ninth inning before the left-hander struck out Riley Greene, who represented the winning run, closing out Miami's shutout victory. Scott hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 10.1 innings, striking out 12 in that span. He's 5-for-6 in save opportunities with a 2.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 19:17 K:BB across 18 innings this season.       Sean Murphy (oblique) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.

      Advice: It’s been a very slow and methodical progression for Murphy, who was diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain at the end of March.
