      De La Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

      Advice: The 22-year-old also struck out twice, and his 31.7 percent strikeout rate on the season has caught up with him -- De La Cruz is slashing .205/.286/.318 since the beginning of May with only three homers in 34 games. He continues to do damage when he is able to get on base however, and De La Cruz's 33 steals on the season leads the league by a healthy margin, as the Brewers' Brice Turang sits in second place with 22.     • Bobby Miller averages 97.4 mph on Friday at AAA
      Bobby Miller (shoulder) allowed two runs (one earned) over four innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

      Advice: The positive news here for fantasy managers is that Miller averaged 97.4 mph on his four-seam fastball in this one and was able to generate nine swinging strikes, nearly all of them on his secondary offerings. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks, needing 85 pitches (50 strikes) to get through four-plus frames.     • Escapes with 13th save
      Diaz gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his 13th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He struck out one.

      Advice: The right-hander made things difficult once again, issuing a free pass with two outs before a Miguel Amaya double brought the tying run to the plate. Diaz was able to strike out Patrick Wisdom to end the game, however. Diaz has walked a batter in four straight appearances, but he's successfully converted six straight save chances. On the season, he carries a rough 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB through 24.1 innings, but for now the Reds are willing to let him work through his control issues.       Marte (knee) is starting in right field and batting fifth Saturday against the Phillies, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

      Advice: A knee issue forced Marte to be scratched from New York's lineup prior to Wednesday's contest, but the problem appears to have subsided ahead of New York's two-game series against Philly in London.       Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez belted his 15th homer of the season on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.

      Advice: Martinez leads the International League with 15 big flies this season and doesn’t appear to have too much left to prove in the minors, especially with Toronto’s lineup continuing to struggle.     • Fans seven in sixth win
      Lodolo (6-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings in a 3-2 victory over the Cubs. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The left-hander delivered his second straight quality start and fourth of the season on 99 pitches (61 strikes), and the only real mistake Lodolo made resulted in a Dansby Swanson solo shot in the sixth inning. The seven Ks were the most Lodolo has managed in three starts since returning from a groin strain, but he's won all three of those outings with a 2.08 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.       McNeil isn't in the Mets' lineup Saturday against the Phillies, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

      Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (hamstring) is not expected to require a stint on the injured list, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

      Swanson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

      Advice: The shortstop took Nick Lodolo deep in the sixth inning, but the Cubs were already in a 3-0 hole at that point. Swanson is beginning to show faint signs of life at the plate -- while he's batting just .233 (7-for-30) over the last eight games, four of those hits have gone for extra bases, including two of his six homers on the year.
