    • Ryan Weathers lands on IL with finger sprain
Marlins placed LHP Ryan Weathers on the 15-day injured list with a left index finger sprain.

Advice: Weathers winds up hitting the injured list after being lifted from Friday’s start against the Guardians with left index finger soreness. The 24-year-old southpaw, who has compiled a solid 3.55 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 71 innings (13 starts) this season, is going to wind up missing at least a few weeks, even in a best-case scenario. There should be an official timeline from the club at some point in the near future. Rotoworld Today, 12:22 pm

    • Robert Gasser heading for third opinion on elbow
Robert Gasser will get a third opinion on his left elbow in the coming days.

Advice: Gasser will visit specialist Dr. Keith Meister in the cominf days after a second opinion on his left elbow revealed durability issues with his UCL. It doesn’t sound like the 25-year-old rookie southpaw is dealing with a tear or serious damage, but there’s enough of an issue that it might be worth undergoing surgery now instead of the rest and rehabilitation route. There should finally be some clarity on his status at some point in the next week or so. Rotoworld Today, 12:02 pm
    • Goes four frames in rehab start
Miller (shoulder) tossed four-plus innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters.

Advice: This was Miller's third minor-league rehab appearance, and he's gradually worked up from three frames in his first rehab outing to four innings Friday. The righty hurler wasn't at his sharpest, but he approached a full workload with 85 pitches and sat at 97-98 mph with his fastball, per Eric Stephen of SBNation.com, after experiencing reduced velocity in his prior outing. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Miller's outing Friday that it could be the pitcher's final minor-league appearance before returning to the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, but a decision on Miller's next step has not yet been announced. He's struggled throughout his rehab stint, collecting a 6.97ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 10.1 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 11:40 am

    • Dean Kremer (triceps) might skip rehab assignment
Dean Kremer (triceps) will throw a bullpen session this week.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Kremer is trending in the right direction and they’ll wait until after his next throwing session before determining whether he’ll require a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a triceps strain. Rotoworld Today, 11:22 am

    • Steven Matz to make rehab start Tuesday at Double-A
Steven Matz (back) will make another minor league rehab start on Tuesday for Double-A Springfield.

Advice: Matz struck out two over a pair of scoreless frames on Thursday in his rehab assignment debut for Triple-A Memphis and will continue building up his pitch count and stamina this upcoming week in the minors. The 33-year-old lefty has been out since mid-May recovering from a back injury. Rotoworld Today, 11:15 am

    • Mike Clevinger throws bullpen session on Saturday
Mike Clevinger (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Saturday.

Advice: Clevinger is expected to make at least one minor league rehab start before returning to Chicago’s starting rotation, but that plan could always wind up changing. He landed on the injured list last week with right elbow inflammation. Rotoworld Today, 10:59 am

    • Moves to 60-day IL
The Brewers transferred Hall (knee) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Hall's move to the 60-day IL makes him ineligible for activation until June 20, but he wasn't likely to return until at least late June anyway. The 25-year-old lefty was recommended a platelet-rich plasma injection that would've kept him sidelined until September, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, but Hall will instead attempt to pitch through his injury and re-evaluate the damage during the offseason. His spot on the 40-man roster will be given to Elieser Hernandez, who signed a one-year deal with Milwaukee on Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:31 am

    • Sent down to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Advice: After posting a 2.05 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30:8 K:BB over 26.1 innings in Triple-A, Garabito was called up by the Rangers on May 26. Since the promotion, the 28-year-old right-hander has appeared in three games for the big club, allowing one run on four hits and five walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings. The move corresponds with the Rangers activating right-hander Jon Gray from the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 10:16 am
    • Brewers ink Elieser Hernández to one-year deal
Brewers signed RHP Elieser Hernández to a one-year contract.

Advice: Hernández bolsters Milwaukee’s relief depth in the majors after electing free agency earlier this week following his removal from the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty made five appearances (one start) this season in the big leagues for Los Angeles. Rotoworld Today, 10:13 am
