      Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Candelario is dealing with knee tendinitis that is "progressively not getting better" and "maybe a bit worse," Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Candelario -- who is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Pirates -- was removed from a game last week with the knee issue, and it has continued to nag at him. Bell noted that Candelario is still able to play but added that the infielder will be re-evaluated later Wednesday as the club decides how to best handle the situation. With Noelvi Marte looking likely to return from an 80-game suspension Thursday to provide the club another option at third base, it's possible the Reds will choose to put Candelario on the injured list if they determine his knee would improve with some extended rest.       Advice: Smith gave the Rangers an early lead in the top of the first inning but the offense was silenced for the last eight frames. The HBP was his second in as many games and third over the last five; he leads MLB in that category with 12. It was thought Smith's run at third base might come to end this week, but Josh Jung (wrist) experienced a setback and is not expected to return during the Rangers' road trip that ends Sunday in Baltimore.       Advice: Westburg has gone 14-for-42 (.333) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI over his last 11 contests. He's up to a .283/.337/.516 slash line with 13 homers, 16 doubles, six stolen bases, 46 RBI and 40 runs scored through 73 games this season.       Advice: The Dodgers right-hander labored through just two innings against a feeble White Sox lineup, requiring 60 pitches with only 32 percent being in the zone. Miller has been unsteady since returning from the injured list June 19, generating a 8.64 ERA and 3:4 K:BB across 8.1 innings versus two weak opponents -- Chicago and Colorado.       Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June, as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday (though Massey will serve as DH for now), so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role.     • Bobby Miller allows 3 ER in short outing vs. CWS
      Bobby Miller allowed three earned runs over two innings in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Miller surrendered a two-run homer to Andrew Benintendi in the bottom of the first inning, and later saw an Eloy Jiménez double bring Luis Robert Jr. around to score. Miller allowed four baserunners in the frame and needed 38 pitches to get out of the inning but was pulled after the second inning and 60 pitches. It was just Miller’s fifth start of the season and his second-shortest outing on the year, as he was erratic for much of the night, with only 33 of his pitches going for strikes. The young righty has allowed three earned runs or more in three of his starts this season and saw his ERA jump to 6.75 after Tuesday’s outing.
