    • Kirby Yates takes first loss after unearned run
Kirby Yates took his first loss after giving up an unearned run in the ninth Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: José Leclerc’s inability to get the job done in the seventh stressed the Rangers bullpen tonight. David Roberson had to get the final two outs of that inning and then wound up giving up two runs in the eighth on his 30th pitch of the night. Yates came into a tie game in the ninth and gave up the go-ahead run on a walk, a catcher’s interference and a double. The catcher’s interference was provided by J.D. Martinez, who again tested the boundaries of the batter’s box, but at least he didn’t break anyone’s arm this time. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
    • Josh Smith hits three-run homer against Mets
Josh Smith went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer Tuesday in the loss to the Mets.

Advice: We’re still not really buying into Smith’s terrific start to the season, but there’s little doubt that he’ll remain in the Rangers lineup after Josh Jung returns. He’s batting .298/.386/.451 through 247 at-bats, even though his exit velocity numbers are actually worse than when he hit .185/.304/.328 last season. His strikeout rate is well down, which definitely helps, but he still seems to be overachieving at the moment. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Considered day-to-day
Manager Brandon Hyde said that Westburg was diagnosed with a bruised left hip following Tuesday's loss to the Yankees, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Westburg collided with Juan Soto during the first inning of Tuesday's contest and eventually had to leave the game in the second. He appears to have avoided any significant damage, and it's possible he could return to Baltimore's lineup Wednesday without missing any games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:30 pm

    • Jordan Westburg day-to-day with hip soreness
Jordan Westburg is day-to-day with left hip soreness.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters following Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees that Westburg is pretty sore, but it doesn’t sound like he suffered a significant injury when he collided at an awkward angle with Juan Soto during the opening frame of the contest, which led to his early exit. The 25-year-old infielder will likely sit out a couple games moving forward, but it doesn’t appear that he’s headed to the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 7:16 pm

    • Jordan Westburg leaves game with hip discomfort
Jordan Westburg was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Yankees with left hip discomfort.

Advice: Westburg collided awkwardly with Yankees slugger Juan Soto while fielding a first-inning grounder at third base and was lifted from the contest in the ensuing frame. It sounds like his early exit was merely for precautionary reasons, but he’ll presumably undergo some additional testing to rule out anything serious. The 25-year-old holds an .836 OPS with 11 homers and six steals in 275 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 5:19 pm

    • Exits early with hip injury
Westburg left Tuesday's contest with the Yankees in the bottom of the second inning with left hip discomfort, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Westburg struck out swinging to open the game in the top of the first inning and he was later removed from the contest in the bottom of the second. Westburg will certainly undergo imaging on his hip to determine the severity of the injury, but in the meantime, Ramon Urias has replaced him at third base against New York. • Resting Tuesday
Garcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Garcia will get his first day off since April 27, as Travis Jankowski bats sixth and plays right field Tuesday. Garcia owns a .677 OPS with 13 homers and six stolen bases through 285 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:08 pm

    • Adolis García on the bench Tuesday vs. Mets
Adolis García is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for García, who has been struggling of late, batting .152 (17-for-112) with five homers and two steals, while also striking out 34 times, over his last 30 contests. It’s possible a mental break will help get things back on track. Rotoworld Today, 1:08 pm

    • Josh Smith returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Mets
Josh Smith is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets.

Advice: Smith is back at designated hitter for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets after missing four straight games due to general soreness. It could be a few additional days before he’s ready to get back onto the field defensively, but it’s an encouraging development that the Rangers are able to get his bat back into the lineup. The 26-year-old infielder has been excellent this year, batting .294/.384/.436 with four homers and four steals across 243 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:05 pm
