      Advice: Wong made his first start since coming off the paternity list Thursday and extended a hit streak to 14 games (18-for-52, .346). Three months into the season and Wong is maintaining a .328 average, nearly 100 points higher than his career average entering 2024 (.232). Red Sox hitting coach Pete Fatse credits Wong being more direct with his swing path which has led to more zone contact, per Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe.       Advice: Ober left the game in line for the lead, but Griffin Jax allowed the tying run in the eighth inning. Ober has been absolutely dialed in over his last three starts, allowing just four runs with a 27:5 K:BB across 21.1 innings in that span. He's now at a 4.30 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 92:23 K:BB through 88 innings over 16 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers.       Bailey Ober held the Mariners to one run with nine strikeouts in six innings in a no-decision.

      Advice: Ober wasn’t as good as he was in his complete game against Oakland, but it was another pretty strong outing. The right-hander’s only run allowed shouldn’t have happened, as Christian Vazquez couldn’t hold onto a ball that would have had Mitch Haniger out by about 15 feet if it doesn’t get by him.       Stroman came away with a no-decision in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander made his big-league debut with the Jays in 2014 and had trouble keeping his composure in his return to Toronto, getting the hook after 88 pitches (52 strikes) and not sticking around long enough to benefit from a season-best offensive explosion by the Yankees. Stroman completed six innings only once in five June starts, but on the year he still sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:43 K:BB through 95.2 innings. Pasquantino has struggled lately as this marked his first multi-RBI game since June 13 against the Yankees.       Advice: Fairbanks was asked to protect a 3-1 lead in the ninth inning and worked around a one-out walk to secure his 13th save of the season. The closer has rebounded from a blown save June 20 to nail down three consecutive scoreless saves.       Advice: Stroman labored through two very long innings against the Blue Jays. He could not put them away despite not allowing much hard contact and many long-at bats drove his pitch count up.     • Pete Fairbanks slams door on Nationals in ninth
      Pete Fairbanks slammed the door on the Nationals in the ninth inning on Friday night, protecting a two-run lead to earn his 13th save of the season.

      Advice: Fairbanks had to work a bit in the ninth inning of this one, as he issued a one-out walk to Keibert Ruiz to bring the tying run to the plate. He battled back though, getting Eddie Rosario on a line drive to right field and Nick Senzel on a ground ball to first base to end it. In all, he needed 22 pitches (13 strikes) to get the job done. On the season, Fairbanks now sports a 3.14 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 30/13 K/BB ratio over 28 innings to go along with 13 saves and two victories. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm
