    • Blasts homer, steals a base
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a steal in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

Advice: The veteran shortstop opened the game's scoring by drilling a 401-foot two-run homer off Logan Webb in the second inning. Swanson later added his fifth stolen bag of the season in the eighth. The big performance was much needed for the 30-year-old as he entered the evening on a cold spell, going hitless in 20 plate appearances over his last six games. Overall, Swanson owns a .209/.286/.255 slash line in 245 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Framber Valdez surrenders two runs in loss
Framber Valdez pitched six innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Valdez allowed just two hits, but he walked five batters, which fueled the rallies in the third and fifth innings. Valdez worked out of big jams to limit the White Sox to single runs both innings, but the Astros offense did nothing to back him tonight. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago
    • Struggles with control in loss
Valdez (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The Houston southpaw toiled against a weak White Sox team that entered the evening collectively batting .220 with a 7.1 percent walk rate -- both qualifying as the second-worst marks in the majors. The five walks Valdez issued were the most since his first start this season against the Yankees on March 28, when he issued six free passes. The 30-year-old now sports a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB over 73.2 innings. Valdez faces a difficult test in his next scheduled outing, slated to come against Baltimore at home this weekend. • Jansen picks up 13th save in win over Blue Jays
Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Jansen has now picked up saves in back-to-back days and has recorded four saves in the month of June. The hard-throwing righty has allowed one run in his last 6 1/3 innings pitched while striking out eight batters to just one walk. Rotoworld Today, 7:48 pm
    • Santander hits 18th homer as O’s fall to Yanks
Anthony Santander went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Santander broke up a shutout in the ninth inning when he homered off Clay Holmes, who was brought on in a non-save situation. After getting off to a slow start, Santander has heated up in a big way as of late. The veteran right fielder is slashing .292/.347/.738 in the month of June with nine home runs and 16 RBI. • J.T. Realmuto (knee) aims to return next month
J.T. Realmuto (knee) told reporters Tuesday that he’s planning to return by next month’s All-Star break.

Advice: Realmuto is roughly one week removed from right knee surgery to repair a meniscus tear and is hoping to get back into game action, barring any setbacks, in the days leading up to the All-Star break, which begins on July 15. It’s not unrealistic to think he’ll be ready to go afterwards, even if he doesn’t meet that aggressive timeline. Rotoworld Today, 5:35 pm

    • Sidelined for eight weeks
The Yankees placed Rizzo on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right forearm fracture.

Advice: Per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, Rizzo will be shut down from all activities for up to five weeks, and it will be eight weeks until he's ready to play in games. Ben Rice is up to take his roster spot and is starting at first base Tuesday against the Orioles in his major-league debut. The Yankees also figure to use DJ LeMahieu at first base and Oswaldo Cabrera at third base some days while Rizzo is shelved. Rotowire.com Today, 1:43 pm
    • Anthony Rizzo heads to IL with forearm fracture
Yankees placed 1B Anthony Rizzo on the 10-day injured list with a right forearm fracture.

Advice: Rizzo is expected to miss roughly two months after suffering a fracture in his right forearm last weekend during a first-base collision. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman hasn’t made much of an offensive impact, but he remains an excellent defender at the cold corner, which is where his loss will be felt the most over the next few weeks. There’s a chance he’s back at some point in mid-August. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm
    • Taking seat Tuesday
Springer is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Springer has a .578 OPS through 273 plate appearances this season and will sit after going 4-for-26 while starting the previous eight contests. Addison Barger will take over in right field and bat sixth Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:54 pm
