    • Chris Davis crushed his 25th and 26th home runs Wednesday as the Orioles pounded the Tigers 13-3.
Advice: Both were two-run shots; he had one off Rick Porcello in the fourth and another off Jose Valverde in the ninth. He also mixed in a ground-rule double, giving him five RBI on the day. After going eight games without an RBI earlier this month, Davis has come back with six homers and 14 RBI in his last eight games. He's also overtaken Miguel Cabrera for the AL lead in OPS.

    • Chris Davis went 2-for-4 and homered for the Orioles' only run Monday against the Tigers.
Advice: Davis has opened up a four-homer lead on Carlos Gonzalez for first place in the majors with 24. Miguel Cabrera is second in the AL after hitting his 19th tonight.

    • Chris Davis finished 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a 6-3 win over the Red Sox on Sunday.
Advice: Davis is now hitting .335/.414/.697 in 69 games this season and he's on pace for 53 home runs and 139 RBI. The emerging star is showing no signs of slowing down.

    • Chris Davis launched his major league-leading 22nd home run in Friday's win over the Red Sox.
Advice: The solo blast was his 13th home run in his last 34 games. He's currently on pace for 52 home runs for the year. Of course, the Orioles' single-season record is held by Brady Anderson, who hit 50 bombs in 1996.

    • Brandon Belt went 3-for-4 with an RBI double in the Giants' 5-4 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
Advice: The Giants snapped San Diego's seven-game winning streak. Belt's double off Dale Thayer tied the game in the bottom of the eighth, and Juan Perez singled him home for the go-ahead run. Belt has collected seven hits in his last three games, raising his average from .246 to .264.

Advice: Belt has seven home runs this year, as many as he had in more than double the at-bats in 2012. He's batting .251/.323/.422 with 29 RBI in 199 at-bats.

    • Brandon Moss went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored as the A's beat the Rangers 6-2 on Tuesday.
Advice: Moss has homers in two of his last three games and 13 on the year. The first baseman also tripled in the game, his third already this season. Moss likely won't replicate the .291 batting average he finished with in 2012, but he is well on his way to another 20-homer season.

    • Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a home run in the Twins' 7-5 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Advice: Mauer hit a two-run homer in the first inning and later doubled off White Sox starter Dylan Axelrod, falling a triple short of the cycle. The two RBI gave him 23 on the season to go with a .327/.412/.492 line. And the homer was his seventh, giving him a fair chance to eclipse his total of 10 in 2012. If he finishes with his current slugging percentage it would actually be his third-highest all-time among full seasons.

    • Prince Fielder went 0-for-4 on Wednesday and is without a homer since June 4.
Advice: Fielder has been hitting for average of late, but except for a three-game surge at the beginning of the month, the power hasn't been there. He has a total of five homers and 27 RBI in 44 games since May 1 after totaling seven homers and 27 RBI in 25 games in April. Fortunately, since he's hitting behind Miguel Cabrera, he's still driving in runs with singles and doubles.

    • Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, helping to lead the Tigers to a 4-0 victory over the Twins in Minnesota on Friday.
Advice: Rick Porcello and Scott Diamond were engaged in a scoreless pitcher's duel heading into the sixth inning, where Fielder's two-run double broke the game open and provided more than enough support for the Tigers. He's having another excellent season, hitting .289/.390/.536 with 12 homers and 52 RBI.

    • Nick Swisher (shoulder) is expected to return to the Indians' starting lineup this Saturday.
Advice: That's contingent on a batting practice session going well on Friday. Swisher hasn't placed since last Saturday because of a sore left shoulder. He was given a cortisone injection to treat the discomfort earlier this week and is apparently feeling much better.

    • Nick Swisher received a cortisone shot in his left shoulder and is likely to be sidelined until at least Friday.
Advice: The shoulder has been an ongoing issue for Swisher, who aggravated the injury during Sunday's game. An MRI has ruled out any structural damage, but the Indians haven't ruled out the possibility of a stint on the disabled list. The Indians figure to see how he responds to the shot before making a roster move.

    • Nick Swisher's nagging left shoulder injury could force him to the disabled list.
Advice: Swisher has been battling the ailment all season and aggravated it during Saturday's game. He's in a 6-for-55 slump, which no doubt is due in part to the injury. "I've been battling this shoulder thing the whole year. It's super frustrating for me because I've never had something like this," he said. "Either way, we have to figure out what is going on and then we will go from there."

    • Paul Goldschmidt homered off Chad Qualls in the bottom of the ninth to give the Diamondbacks a 3-2 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
Advice: Does it still count as a walkoff homer when it comes off Qualls? We'll assume it does. The homer, Goldschmidt's 17th, snapped the Diamondbacks' four-game losing streak. He's batting just .232 in 69 at-bats this month, but he's driven in 20 runs anyway.

    • Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored Friday against the Mets.
Advice: Nice to see from Rizzo, who had just two hits over his previous seven games combined. The 23-year-old has really struggled dating back to mid-May, but he has the ability to be a top-10 option at the first base position in mixed leagues.

    • Orioles purchased the contract of 1B Travis Ishikawa from Triple-A Norfolk.
Advice: Ishikawa utilized the opt-out clause in his minor league deal over the weekend, so the Orioles added him to the major league roster rather than let him go. The 29-year-old was batting .316/.413/.525 with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 49 games this season in Triple-A. The first baseman is hitting .320/.372/.680 with eight homers in 103 at-bats this year. He won't continue to hit at such a clip, but it's worth riding while he's hit in deeper mixed leagues.
