• Luis García Jr. homers in Nats’ blowout victory
Luis García Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, lifting the Nationals to a 12-3 blowout win over the Twins.

Advice: García put the Nationals ahead with a two-run shot off Twins ace Pablo López in the second inning -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old second baseman is finally starting to make the leap offensively at the highest level this season, batting .281 (38-for-135) with four homers and seven steals in 39 contests so far. • Tanner Houck spins seven scoreless to beat Rays
Tanner Houck fired seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the Rays.

Advice: Houck authored another brilliant performance, scattering just two hits and one walk over seven nearly-flawless frames. He finished with five strikeouts and allowed just six batted balls with an exit velocity over 92 mph in this one. He’ll carry a sparkling 1.94 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 62/12 K/BB ratio across 65 innings (10 starts) into a home tilt on Sunday against the Brewers. The 27-year-old righty has been an unexpected revelation this season for fantasy managers, allowing three earned runs or fewer in nine of his 10 starts so far. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Taj Bradley strikes out 10 in loss to Red Sox
Taj Bradley struck out 10 and allowed five runs over seven innings on Monday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Bradley was burned by the long ball in this one as two-run homers by Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, accounted for nearly all of the damage against him. The 23-year-old former top prospect generated an eye-popping 22 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He’ll bring a 4.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23/3 K/BB ratio across 18 innings (three starts) into a home matchup on Sunday against the Royals. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at this juncture. • Joe Ross departs game with back strain
Joe Ross left Monday’s game because of a strained lower back, according to the Brewers.

Advice: Definitely better than some of the alternatives. The Brewers are off Thursday, so if Ross feels better quickly, the team might not need to replace him in the rotation. If he does go on the IL, either Bradley Blalock or Tobias Myers could replace him in the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 4:29 pm

  • Exits start early
Ross was removed from Monday's start against the Marlins after one scoreless inning due to back tightness, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: Ross was reportedly dealing with some back tightness before Monday's start, but he felt good enough to give it a go after warming up. However, his back tightened back up during a 15-pitch first inning, and he's been officially diagnosed with a low back strain. Jared Koenig was called upon out of the bullpen following the right-hander's departure and will likely be asked to eat up a few frames. Rotowire.com Today, 4:15 pm

  • Joe Ross leaves game after one inning
Joe Ross exited Monday’s game after the first inning with an undisclosed injury.

Advice: Jared Koenig replaced Ross against the Marlins. Assuming that this is an IL-type situation, perhaps Bradley Blalock could join the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 4:12 pm

  • Otto López continues to start for Marlins at 2B
Otto López is starting for the Marlins at second base for the eighth straight game.

Advice: López has earned an everyday role since the Marlins traded Luis Arraez. The 25-year-old is hitting .300/.345/.540 with three home runs and one steal in 22 games. López is striking out just 18 percent of the time and has posted solid batting averages throughout his minor league tenure, so he could be a source of batting average and steals in deep league formats. • Three-hit effort in loss
Raley went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: Raley accomplished the rare feat of generating a three-hit tally against Orioles starter Corbin Burnes, who was otherwise mostly dominant while recording 11 strikeouts across six frames. Raley now has three multi-hit efforts during his current six-game hitting streak, a stretch in which he's posted a .458 average (11-for-24) with Sunday's pair of two-baggers, two home runs, five RBI and two steals across 24 plate appearances. • García Jr. (heel) back Sunday as designated hitter
Luis García Jr. (heel) is hitting cleanup as the designated hitter for the Nationals on Sunday against the Phillies.

Advice: García Jr. is back on the field after suffering a right heel injury against the White Sox. The 24-year-old should be able to return to the field in the coming days, but for now it’s nice to see him back in the lineup after missing consecutive contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 am
