• MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests. • Ryan Bliss collects first MLB homer in loss to KC
Ryan Bliss hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Bliss absolutely clobbered a Daniel Lynch IV offering to left field in the first inning to give Seattle a 7-0 lead and Bliss his first ever MLB homer. The 24-year-old has hit just .188 thus far in the majors, but his .350 on-base percentage does show that he has been more than willing to reach via walk. There is some potential long-term fantasy upside in his right-handed bat. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Witt Jr. triples home tying run, scores winner
Bobby WItt Jr. went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple to help the Royals to a 10-9 win over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Superstar gonna superstar. With the Royals trailing 9-8, Witt Jr. spanked a triple down the left-field line to score the tying run, and he scored on a fielder’s choice to give Kansas City the win in a game they trailed 7-0 after the top half of the first inning. Witt Jr. has tripled seven time while driving in 47 runs, and remains as good — if not better — than any fantasy option at his or any other position. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Ryne Stanek blows save, allows three runs
Ryne Stanek allowed three runs and blew a save while picking up a loss Friday to the Royals.

Advice: Stanek was handed a 9-7 lead in the ninth. It didn’t work out. The right-hander got another save chance with Andres Munoz (back) not available again, and he didn’t make the most of it. Stanek could be inline for save chances as long as Munoz is unavailable, but this is a very flawed — to put it mildly — fantasy option. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
  • Daniel Lynch IV allows seven in first
Daniel Lynch IV went four innings while allowing eight runs, but didn’t factor into the decision against the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Generally when you give up a seven-spot in the first, you take home a loss. The score would end up being 8-0 after he left, but Kansas City completed an epic comeback to prevent the L. Still, it was a terrible start for Lynch IV that saw him allow six hits and four walks, and he needed 93 pitches to get those 12 outs. A former top prospect, Lynch IV will get win chances with this Kansas City offense, but the lack of consistent success makes him hard to use in fantasy. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Bryce Miller struggles over five in no-decision
Bryce Miller gave up seven runs in five innings but didn’t factor in the decision against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Miller was handed an 8-0 lead, but he nearly gave it all back himself. The right-hander walked three while allowing eight hits — including a three-run homer to MJ Melendez — and he struck out just one in his worst start of the season. Miller has mostly looked the part, but this one sees his ERA jump up to 3.81. There are still things hear to figure out before he’s an elite fantasy option. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Fires seven innings
Webb (5-5) allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rangers.

Advice: Webb kept Texas off the board for four frames before the Rangers plated two runs in the fifth inning. Outside of that inning, he allowed just one baserunner. Webb threw seven innings in his last outing but saw his streak of four straight quality starts come to an end. With Friday's quality start in the books, he has 10 in his 14 appearances this season. Webb will carry a 2.92 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be at home against Houston next week. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Swats two homers
Flores went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Friday's win over Texas.

Advice: Flores opened the game's scoring with a solo blast in the second inning before going deep again in the fourth. He's knocked three home runs while driving in seven runs over his last two games. Before that, he was stuck in a 21-game homerless drought, during which he produced a .490 OPS. Flores is now slashing .224/.298/.353 with four home runs and 21 RBI through 52 appearances. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

  • Secures save
Doval struck out one batter in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Doval fired 10 of 15 pitches to quickly retire the Ragners' 3-4-5 hitters in order and finish off the 5-2 win. It was his first appearance since coughing up four runs against the Yankees on June 2. Doval has now converted 10 of his 12 save chances and Friday was his first successful attempt since May 24. Doval lowered his season ERA to 4.07 through 24.1 innings. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago
