    • Jhoan Duran to make another rehab outing on Friday
Jhoan Duran (oblique) will make another appearance in a minor league rehab game on Friday.

Advice: Duran looked electric in his first appearance at Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, despite allowing a pair of runs on four hits. He also struck out three batters, fired 15 of his 27 pitches for strikes and averaged 98.1 mph on his heater. If all goes well with Friday’s outing, he could then be cleared to rejoin the Twins’ bullpen. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

    • Another rehab outing on tap
Duran (oblique) is scheduled for a second rehab appearance with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: According to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com, the right-hander averaged 98.1 mph with his fastball -- down a couple ticks from the usual triple digits -- and surrendered two runs on four hits over one inning during Tuesday's rehab outing, but he felt fine physically during and after the appearance. Duran said he dealt with some mechanical issues during spring training that affected his velocity, and it's possible those problems flared up again. It's unclear how many rehab outings the Twins are looking for, but the 26-year-old could return within the next week if he continues to progress with no issues. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 pm

    • Lands on IL with rib fractures
Cubs manager Craig Counsell confirmed that Bellinger has been placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right rib fractures, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Bellinger was removed from Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Astros with what the team had labeled as a right rib contusion, after initial X-rays had returned negative. However, after Bellinger was sent in for a CT scan earlier Wednesday, he was found to have suffered two fractures, and he'll now be forced to miss at least the next week and a half while he heals up from the injury, according to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune. The Cubs called up Pete Crow-Armstrong from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move, and he could end up serving as the primary replacement for Bellinger in center field if Counsell wants to prioritize defense over offense. • Cubs place Cody Bellinger (rib) on IL
Cubs placed Cody Bellinger on the injured list with a rib fracture, according to manager Craig Counsell.

Advice: There isn’t a reported designation for Bellinger, but given it’s a rib fracture, fantasy managers can expect the 28-year-old to miss an extended period of time. X-rays were initially negative, but a CT scan on Wednesday morning revealed a fracture in his right rib after he collided into the centerfield wall against the Astros on Tuesday. • Swipes another bag
Kim went 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base Tuesday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Kim is up to seven thefts on the campaign, tied for seventh in MLB. He's still batting a modest .228 on the season but has perked up over his past 12 games, slashing .268/.412/.488 with two homers, six RBI, nine runs, four steals and a 10:5 BB:K over that stretch. • Shaky in eighth inning appearance
Kopech allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks while striking out two to earn a hold Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Kopech was used in the eighth inning, and he primarily matched up against the top of the Twins' lineup. He allowed a leadoff single and later in the inning served up a two-run home run to Trevor Larnach. Kopech still maintained a one-run lead for the White Sox to earn his first hold of the season. The sample of the team maintaining a lead late in games is small, but it appears that manager Pedro Grifol is comfortable using Kopech in the highest-leverage situations rather than using him solely in save situations. • Belts three-run homer
Jimenez went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, a stolen base and a second run scored during Tuesday's loss to the Twins.

Advice: Jimenez's fourth-inning shot flipped the score from 1-0 to 3-1, and he came around to score after drawing a walk in the eighth to make it a 5-2 game. The White Sox ultimately were unable to come away with the win Tuesday, but the 27-year-old's offensive outburst propelled him up to a .795 OPS in eight games since returning from the injured list April 15. • Cody Bellinger doing OK after wall collision
Cody Bellinger said after Tuesday’s game that he should be OK following his collision with the center-field wall.

Advice: X-rays were negative on Bellinger’s right ribs and he’s considered day-to-day with a contusion for now. It’s possible he’ll be ready to go Wednesday after going 1-for-3 with a two-run homer prior to exiting the late stages of Tuesday’s contest. “We’re going to have to check on the wall, see if the wall’s OK first and then be careful around it next time,” he said. • X-rays negative
X-rays on Bellinger's ribs came back negative Tuesday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Manager Craig Counsell said Bellinger is still dealing with quite a bit of soreness, so the Cubs will wait to see how he feels Wednesday before determining any sort of return timeline. Alexander Canario entered Tuesday's game as Bellinger's replacement and could see extra reps in the outfield should the 2019 NL MVP have to miss time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:02 pm
