    • MRI comes back clean for Jurickson Profar (knee)
Jurickson Profar (knee) underwent a precautionary MRI exam on his injured knee on Wednesday that came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Padres’ fans and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief, as one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season won’t miss substantial time. He’s still considered day-to-day and should return to the Padres’ lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • TJ Friedl scores run as Reds top Guardians
TJ Friedl singled and scored a run as the Reds triumphed over the Guardians on Wednesday evening in Cincinnati.

Advice: Friedl singled off of Tanner Bibee in the sixth inning, then rode home on Jeimer Candelario’s go-ahead three-run homer. That would be the 28-year-old outfielder’s only hit in four at-bats on the day. He has been having a rough time at the plate in-between stints on the injured list this season, slashing a mere .221/.338/.382 with three homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases in his first 19 games. • Brewers hopeful that Joey Ortiz can return Friday
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Wednesday’s game that he’s hopeful Joey Ortiz (hamstring) will be able to return to action on Friday.

Advice: The dynamic 25-year-old infielder was held out of action on Tuesday and Wednesday due to soreness in his right hamstring. Murphy noted that Ortiz “tested out really well” on Wednesday though and they’re hopeful that after Thursday’s off-day he’ll be ready to roll. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:46 pm

    • Next start pushed back
Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Yamamoto's next start will be pushed back from Thursday to Saturday against Kansas City, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Advice: The Dodgers have not announced a replacement starter for Yamamoto, but they will give the right-hander an extra few days to rest after he threw a season-high 106 pitches across seven scoreless innings during his last outing against the Yankees. The 25-year-old has put up a 2.50 ERA and 1.11 WHIP alongside a 22:5 K:BB across 18 innings over his last three starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:38 pm
    • Jurickson Profar is not in the lineup on Wednesday
Jurickson Profar (knee) is not the Padres’ lineup against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Profar tweaked his knee in Tuesday night’s game and is considered day-to-day for now. The Padres don’t seem to believe an IL stint is necessary, but it will depend on how Profar responds over the next few days. Jose Azocar will start in left field and bat ninth with Profar on the bench. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:21 pm

    • Throwing out to 105 feet
Rodriguez (shoulder) has extended his throwing program out to 105 feet, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: Rodriguez will also continue to receive imaging on his left shoulder to check his progress. The left-hander is one month into the resumption of a throwing program after he had a setback in mid-April. There remains no timetable for Rodriguez's season debut. • Taking seat due to sore knee
Profar (knee) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Profar started in each of the Padres' first 71 games of the season, but he'll hit the bench for the first time after he was forced out of Tuesday's 4-3 win in the eighth inning due to a sore left knee. Manager Mike Shildt disclosed after the contest that Profar has been battling patellar tendinitis in the knee for years, but the 31-year-old aggravated the injury on a swing during his eighth-inning at-bat. Though Shildt downplayed the knee issue, the skipper admitted that he was unsure if Profar -- who leads the National League with a .424 on-base percentage -- would require imaging on the knee, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune. Jose Azocar will cover left field Wednesday in place of Profar, whose status will presumably be updated following Thursday's team off day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:36 am

    • Joey Ortiz day-to-day with hamstring injury
Joey Ortiz is not in the Brewers’ lineup on Tuesday as he is undergoing testing on his hamstring.

Advice: Ortiz is being examined today after missing yesterday’s game with a sore right hamstring. Since the Brewers have an off day tomorrow, Ortiz being on the bench on Wednesday allows him to have more rest. We’ll likely know more about his status after the game today. Oliver Dunn is starting at third base for Ortiz on Wednesday and batting eighth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:18 am

    • Absent from lineup
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hoskins has been struggling at the plate over the past week, going just 3-for-20. He'll begin Wednesday's afternoon game on the bench while Jake Bauers plays first base and Christian Yelich serves as the Brewers' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 am
