• Rosenthal: Gil could move to pen when Cole returns
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees “are likely to ‘back off’ on Luis Gil in order to have him as a factor for the playoffs.”

Advice: On one hand, backing off Gil makes some sense. The 25-year-old has already thrown 49 innings this season and has not thrown more than 96 innings in any season since 2019. However, when Yankees manager Aaron Boone was asked about his plans for Gil, he mentioned that Gerrit Cole is likely four to six weeks away from returning, which is an eternity during a baseball season. Moving Gil to the bullpen could make sense on the surface, but it’s impossible to tell what position the Yankees rotation will be in by the time Cole comes back. As a result, it’s too early to make a move for your fantasy teams. Rotoworld Today, 10:31 am

  • Swats another homer
Chapman went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run during Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Advice: The 31-year-old tagged Jared Jones for a two-run home run in the sixth inning, Chapman's second straight game with a long ball. He's been red-hot in his last five games, going 11-for-18 (.611) with seven extra-base hits, 10 runs, five RBI and two stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm

  • Opens scoring Wednesday
Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Judge saw an eight-game hitting streak snapped Tuesday, but he's reached base in 10 straight contests. During the on-base streak, he's gone 15-for-34 (.441) with five homers, nine RBI, 12 runs scored, six doubles and an 11:9 BB:K. The slugger has been strong at the plate all year, slashing .268/.405/.585 with 14 long balls, 34 RBI, 32 runs scored, 16 doubles and two stolen bases over 51 contests. Judge's 24.7 percent strikeout rate is the lowest mark of his career, which should allow him to continue to succeed as long as he keeps it in check. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:21 pm

  • Slugs grand slam
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Giants in 10 innings.

Advice: Reynolds clobbered his second-career grand slam Wednesday, bringing Joey Bart, Michael Taylor and Andrew McCutchen in to score and give the Pirates a 5-0 lead. Since May 5, Reynolds is batting .284 with two homers, nine RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:16 pm

  • Bryan Reynolds blasts grand slam in loss to Giants
Bryan Reynolds clobbered a grand slam in the fourth inning on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Pirates past the visiting Giants.

Advice: The Pirates entered the home half of the fourth inning engaged in a scoreless tie. They pushed a run across as Andrew McCutchen was plunked with the bases loaded, then Reynolds greeted Sean Hjelle with a 386-foot (100.1 mph EV) grand slam that made it a 5-0 ballgame. The 29-year-old outfielder also singled in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-5. On the season, he’s now hitting .251/.335/.412 to go with six homers, 26 RBI and four swipes. • Heads to bench Wednesday
Trevino is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: After starting three straight games -- all against right-handed pitching -- from Saturday through Monday, Trevino now finds himself on the bench against a righty (Bryce Miller) for the second contest in a row. Trevino still holds a sizable edge over fellow catcher Austin Wells in OPS for the season (.776 to .620), but manager Aaron Boone doesn't appear ready to move Wells into a pure backup role just yet. • Lifts homer in loss
Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Chapman has gone 16-for-43 (.372) with eight extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last 11 games. The third baseman's homer Tuesday gave the Giants a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning. He's up to six long balls, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases while slashing .243/.303/.411 over 48 contests. While his .714 OPS is notably down from last year, he seems to have turned a corner in May by batting .279 after hitting just .212 in April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 am

  • Matt Chapman has two hits, HR in loss
Matt Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Chapman had three of the four hardest-hit balls on the Giants during the game. He had a 113.1 mph groundout, a 106.4 mph double, and a 104.8 mph home run that traveled 414 feet. He also added another 103.2 mph groundout, so it’s safe to say he was seeing the ball pretty well on Tuesday. The veteran is now 19-for-68 (.279) with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and eight RBI during May. He continues to hit cleanup for the Giants every game and is an underrated fantasy option. • Turner accounts for one of two Blue Jays’ hits
Justin Turner went 1-for-3 with a double in the Blue Jays’ loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Turner ended a seven-game hitless streak in this one, but he and the Jays struggled to get the offense going. Toronto managed just two hits and a walk on the evening while striking out nine times as a team. Turner, who hit .300 through the first month of the season, is hitting a dismal .085 in the month of May, going 4-for-47 at the plate. As is the case with many in this lineup, Turner is nearly impossible to trust in fantasy lineups until he can kick this slump. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:39 pm
