    • Taillon doomed by poor 4th inning in loss to ATL
Jameson Taillon allowed seven runs (two earned) on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Taillon allowed just one run on four hits in the first three innings, with three of those hits coming in the first. He started off the fourth inning by allowing a home run to Michal Harris II but then Taillon committed a fielding error and would later throw a wild pitch, both of which extended the inning and caused the right-hander to throw more pitches, allow more hits, and more unearned runs. It was a sloppy inning that overshadowed Taillon’s impressive 28 percent whiff rate with 12 whiffs coming on 43 swings. His sweeper and cutter were particularly strong on the day, but he struggled with his command and the Braves made him pay. Taillon will carry a 1.61 ERA into a start against the Pirates this weekend and is a strong streaming candidate for that game. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:43 pm
    • Nico Hoerner scratched with hamstring tightness
Nico Hoerner was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: It sounds like a precautionary measure since Hoerner was in Chicago’s original lineup, but it’s a situation fantasy managers should keep a close eye on moving forward. The 27-year-old middle infielder should be considered day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:24 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Hoerner was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta due to left hamstring tightness, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Hoerner was originally slated to bat leadoff for Chicago in Game 2 of its series in Atlanta, but he will now be forced to take a seat. More information on his injury will likely be provided following the contest, but in the meantime, Miles Mastrobuoni will take over at shortstop and bat eighth against Atlanta. • Francisco Lindor goes 0-for-4 in loss to Phillies
Francisco Lindor went 0-for-4 against the Phillies in Tuesday’s loss.

Advice: Lindor has had some big games these last few weeks, but the consistency still isn’t there at all; this is the third time in four games and the 19th time in 40 starts this season that he’s gone without a hit. He’s at .204/.272/.383 overall. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
    • Nabs steal in win
Walker went 1-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The steal was Walker's first of the year, which is a bit of a surprise since he stole 11 bases last season. He was caught stealing on his first two attempts in 2024. The first baseman has struggled in May, going 8-for-38 (.211) over 11 contests this month. He's still slashing a decent .265/.377/.437 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 29 runs scored and five doubles over 42 contests overall. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:28 pm

    • Smacks leadoff homer
Betts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Betts snapped a 26-game homer drought with his leadoff blast Monday. He was far from a slouch in that span, batting .337 with an .848 OPS during the power drought. For the season, Betts is up to a .341/.440/.553 slash line with seven homers, 28 RBI, 35 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples over 200 plate appearances. While it has cost him some power, Betts is enjoying the best plate discipline of his career with a 15.0 percent walk rate and 9.0 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:48 pm

    • Explodes for two homers, four RBI
Bregman went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, a double, four total RBI, three total runs and a walk in a 9-2 victory against the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: Bregman came into Monday looking like a shell of his former power-hitting self with just one long ball through 159 plate appearances, but he brought back reminders of his 41-homer 2019 campaign with a pair of solo blasts in the victory. The third baseman capped the big performance with a two-run double in the eighth inning, giving him a season-high four RBI and his second three-hit effort of the campaign. Bregman could be in the midst of turning around what had previously looked like a tepid season, as he's on a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 8-for-20 (.400 average) with four extra-base hits and six RBI. • Doubles, triples, drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and a run scored during Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario's two-out, two-run triple in the first put the Rays on the board while his run-scoring double in the eighth provided the Rays with their final margin of victory. Rosario has found a regular role as the top utility man for Tampa, batting .296 with a .312 on-base percentage, six doubles, three triples, two homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs and five stolen bases over 138 plate appearances. • Quality in no-decision
Manaea did not factor into the decision Monday against the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: With his effort Monday night, Manaea secured his second straight quality start of six innings, lowering his season ERA to 3.05 over 41.1 innings. Even more encouragingly, the Mets lefty issued only one walk for his second consecutive start after issuing multiple free passes in all his previous six starts. He is slated to face the Marlins on the road in his next start this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:07 pm
