    • Fans nine in no-decision
Ragans allowed a run on three hits and a walk over six innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out nine during the loss to Seattle.

Advice: Ragans served up a leadoff home run to J.P. Crawford on just the fourth pitch of the game but was otherwise dominant despite not earning a win. After the homer, Ragans struck out seven of the next 10 batters he faced. It was his second straight quality start and fourth in his last five appearances. He forced a season-high 22 whiffs, including 11 with his changeup. Ragans lowered his ERA to 3.08 alongside a 98:25 K:BB through 79 innings. His next start is expected to be against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:49 pm

    • Clay Holmes walks tightrope, but escapes with save
Clay Holmes walked the tightrope against the Dodgers in the ninth inning on Sunday, but managed to escape with a two-run lead intact to earn his 19th save of the season.

Advice: Holmes had no trouble getting the first two outs of the inning, but then he allowed singles to Gavin Lux and Enrique Hernandez to put the tying runs on base for Mookie Betts. He battled back though, getting Betts on a swinging third strike to close it out for the Yankees. The 31-year-old hurler has been outstanding this season, posting a 1.23 ERA and 29/8 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings to go along with his 19 saves. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:56 pm

    • Cole Ragans surrenders one run in no-decision
Cole Ragans limited the Mariners to one run in six innings and struck out nine in a no-decision Sunday.

Advice: The Ragans-George Kirby matchup met expectations, resulting in a 1-1 tie when Ragans departed. Ragans allowed one run or fewer for the eighth time in 14 starts this season. His two bad outings this year have been particularly bad, accounting for 14 of the 27 earned runs he’s allowed, but he’s been terrific overall and should have been than a 4-4 record to show for it. • Notches 14th save
Kimbrel worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 14th save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Rays. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

Advice: The veteran closer let his defense do the work, getting outs on a flyball, a groundball and a popup in foul territory. Kimbrel hasn't been tagged with an earned run in 10 straight appearances, converting all six of his save chances during that stretch with a 10:0 K:BB as he puts his early season struggles behind him. • Kimbrel picks up 14th save Friday
Craig Kimbrel tossed a clean ninth inning and picked up the save against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: The save was Kimbrel’s 14th of the season and came on the heels of him taking the loss in his last appearance against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. That wasn’t a save opportunity, though. The 36-year-old right-handed is now 7-for-7 in save opportunities since the end of April. Rotoworld Friday, 6:47 pm
    • Records save Thursday
Holmes earned a save against the Twins on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Holmes gave up a one-out single after entering the game in the ninth frame, but that's all Minnesota managed against him. The talented closer has held opponents without an earned run in 27 of his 28 appearances this season, resulting in an excellent 1.32 ERA. Holmes ranks third in the majors with 18 saves (in 21 chances) on the campaign. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:08 pm
