    • Zach Eflin (back) to start Wednesday vs. Marlins
Zach Eflin (back) will start on Wednesday against the Marlins.

Advice: It’s a soft landing spot for Eflin as he draws the starting assignment for Wednesday’s series finale against a light-hitting Marlins lineup that ranks 29th this season in runs scored. The 30-year-old righty has been on the shelf since late May due to lower back inflammation. Rotoworld Tuesday, 5:39 pm

    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday. • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award. The 27-year-old left-hander will face the Brewers at home this weekend. Rotoworld Monday, 7:29 pm

    • Seven strong innings in win
Wheeler (7-3) earned the win Monday against Milwaukee, allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Wheeler nearly pitched seven shutout innings, but he surrendered a solo home run to former teammate Rhys Hoskins with two outs in the seventh inning. Wheeler turned in his fourth consecutive quality start Monday, bringing his season total to 10. Wheeler has pitched to a 2.23 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 91 strikeouts in 80.2 innings this season, all of which rank top 10 in the league. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday in Boston. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:10 pm
    • Zack Wheeler tosses seven innings to beat Brewers
Zack Wheeler yielded one run over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Wheeler carried a shutout bid into the seventh inning before coughing up a solo shot to former teammate Rhys Hoskins and wound up requiring a season-high 114 pitches (67 strikes) to navigate seven frames. He finished with six strikeouts and also handed out a trio of free passes. The 34-year-old right-hander has been one of the most consistent upper-echelon fantasy starters in the game for the last few years and hasn’t skipped a beat this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his 13 outings. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.23 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 91/26 K/BB ratio across 80 2/3 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt next Tuesday against the Red Sox at historic Fenway Park. Rotoworld Monday, 5:55 pm
    • Zach Eflin (back) likely to return this week
Zach Eflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Sunday without any issues and afterwards declared himself “ready to go”.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander is expected to rejoin the Rays’ rotation this week, perhaps on Wednesday against the Marlins in Miami. Prior to landing on the injured list with inflammation in his lower back, Eflin had registered a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 44/4 K/BB ratio over 59 innings of work. Rotoworld Monday, 5:36 am

    • Checks boxes in bullpen session
Eflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sunday's session was Eflin's second bullpen in the last four days. He threw two simulated innings and came away feeling good. The Rays haven't confirmed a date for Eflin's return from the 15-day injured list, but he could be activated as soon as Wednesday to start in the Rays' series finale in Miami. • Earns two-inning save
Paredes allowed a hit over two scoreless frames and picked up a save over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Paredes needed only 13 pitches to quickly roll through two shutout innings. It was his first career MLB save, and he's turned in seven scoreless innings with Milwaukee since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on May 24. Paredes followed Kevin Herget's two shutout frames after Freddy Peralta threw five innings in his start. The Brewers made a conscious effort to save the bullpen after Saturday's win that involved several usual late-inning arms, including Trevor Megill, Hoby Milner and Elvis Peguero. • Cruises to 10th save
Duran tossed a clean ninth, striking out one to pick up his 10th save of the season Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: After allowing a total of six baserunners and three unearned runs over his last three appearances totaling 2.1 innings, Duran ran into no such trouble Sunday, retiring the Astros in order to collect his 10th save in as many attempts. Though he's yet to blow a save since making his season debut April 30, Duran has not been as dominant with an 8.4 K/9 compared with rates of 11.8 and 12.1 over his first two big-league seasons.
