    • Carlos Estévez fans two in perfect ninth
Carlos Estévez struck out two in a perfect ninth for a save Tuesday versus the Orioles.

Advice: Estévez averaged 96.3 mph with his fastball tonight, which is up about two mph from spring training and one mph from Opening Day. He’s still one mph off from last year, but it’s looking like he’ll get there, and with Robert Stephenson out for the season and José Soriano in the rotation, he seems like a much better bet than he did a month ago. • Puts tally in home run column
Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Rangers.

Advice: After launching 60 combined homers in his first two MLB seasons, Rodriguez was homerless through 22 games in 2024 before tagging Dane Dunning for a two-run shot Tuesday. Despite his lack of long balls, Rodriguez has been a strong fantasy producer, having racked up five multi-hit games and four stolen bases in his last seven appearances. • Falls to Cincinnati
Sanchez (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Reds, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Sanchez struggled with command Tuesday, but the Phillies defense certainly didn't do him any favors, committing three errors behind the left-hander in the eventual 8-1 loss. It's a disappointing effort from Sanchez after he was dominant in his last outing versus Colorado, allowing one run while striking out 10 in a win. He now sports a 2.96 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB through five outings (24.1 innings) this season. Sanchez is currently slated for a road matchup with the Angles on Monday in his next start. • Getting MRI on knee
Thomas will receive an MRI on his left knee Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.comreports.

Advice: Thomas injured his knee while swiping a bag in the fifth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers. Once the results of his imaging come back, a better picture will emerge regarding the severity of his injury, as well as an estimate for how much time -- if any -- the 28-year-old will miss. Thomas is slashing .184/.250/.253 across 96 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:32 pm

    • CJ Abrams has three hits in loss to LAD
CJ Abrams went 3-for-5 and was caught stealing in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Abrams’ hits were singles, but Abrams is now slashing .316/.372/.671 on the season. He was hitting leadoff even against a lefty and continues to make a tremendous amount of contact. The only blemish is that this was the second time Abrams was caught stealing this year to go along with four steals. However, anybody who thought the 23-year-old’s performance in 2023 was a fluke might be regretting not having him on their fantasy team. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm

    • McArthur picks up fifth save of the season
James McArthur pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: McArthur put in an extra inning to earn the save in this one. While he didn’t tally a strikeout, the Royals closer needed just 20 pitches to secure the one-run victory on a night where his team was out-hit at the plate. McArthur now has five saves on the season, which is tied for 10th most in the league and only four off from the league leader. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm
    • Lane Thomas to undergo MRI on left knee
Lane Thomas will undergo an MRI on Wednesday on his left knee.

Advice: It’s certainly not what fantasy managers want to hear after Thomas made an early exit from Tuesday’s showdown against the Dodgers after twisting his left leg on a stolen base attempt. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s showdown. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment, but it’s possible he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:30 pm

    • Foley locks down seventh save in win over TB
Jason Foley fired a scoreless ninth to preserve the Tigers’ 4-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: The save was Foley’s seventh on the season, and the right-hander has been one of the early surprises of 2024, riding increased velocity on his nasty sinker to 11 scoreless innings. Yes, Foley now was 11 innings without allowing an earned run to go along with 11 strikeouts and seven walks. He clearly won’t remain as fortunate when it comes to his ERA, but he should remain the Tigers’ closer with his new arsenal. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:04 pm
    • Cristopher Sánchez has off day in loss to Reds
Cristopher Sánchez allowed five runs (one earned) on four hits in three innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: It was just one of those days for Sánchez, who didn’t have his best command and was let down by his defense, who recorded three errors behind him. The lefty’s velocity was actually up one mph on Tuesday, but he had trouble commanding his changeup and recorded three walks to go with his four strikeouts. It’s likely just a minor bump in the road for Sánchez, who still has a 2.96 ERA on the season, and should be started with confidence next week against the Angels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm
