    • Strikes out two in scoreless inning
Kopech struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Kopech made his third appearance in four days after recording back-to-back saves on June 27 and June 28. The right-hander delivered Sunday, retiring the side in order while striking out two batters on just eight pitches. The 28-year-old now owns a 2.25 ERA with two saves over his past eight innings, solidifying himself as the White Sox closer. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Making first start Wednesday
Williams (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list earlier Sunday, is scheduled to make his first start of the season for the Guardians on Wednesday versus the White Sox at Progressive Field.

Advice: Williams' 30-day rehab window came to a close Sunday, so the Guardians brought him back from the IL a few days before he's set to make his 2024 MLB debut. The right-hander submitted a 7.88 ERA and 2.00 WHIP across eight innings over his first four rehab starts with Triple-A Columbus, but he looked strong his last two times out, turning in five- and four-inning starts while allowing two total runs and submitting a 10:2 K:BB between those outings. The Guardians will likely keep the 24-year-old's workload in check to some extent Wednesday, but based on how he concluded his rehab assignment, Williams might be worthy of activating this week while he faces off against a weak White Sox lineup. Gunnar Henderson announced on ESPN that he will participate in this year’s Home Run Derby.

    • Earns sixth save
Hoffman struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save Sunday vs Miami.

Advice: Hoffman allowed a runner to reach on an error but was otherwise solid to pick up his sixth save. Jose Alvarado leads the Phillies with 12 saves this season, but Hoffman has gotten the occasional opportunity. No matter the role, Hoffman has proven to be one of the most reliable bullpen weapons for the Phillies this season, pitching with a 1.27 ERA and 0.93 WHIP. Rotowire.com Today, 3:49 pm

    • Exits after being hit in head
Ward (head) exited Sunday's game against the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning after being hit the in head by a pitch, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first three plate appearances of the day.

Advice: Ward was struck in the head after a 93 mile per hour fastball got away from reliever Shelby Miller. The outfielder looked to be OK after getting hit, with his removal from the contest potentially being a matter of precaution, according to Beacham. The 30-year-old missed the final three months of the 2023 campaign after being hit in the face by a pitch from Toronto starter Alek Manoah, making the situation Sunday particularly jarring. Ward's status will likely receive an update in the near future, but at the moment, he appears to have avoided any significant injury. Rotowire.com Today, 3:47 pm

    • Taylor Ward exits but apparently OK after beaning
Taylor Ward left Sunday’s game in the ninth inning after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.

Advice: Ward seemed OK afterwards and was able to walk off without incident. Ward missed the final two months of last season with facial fractures after getting hit in the head by a pitch. Fortunately, this one today only hit the side of his helmet. Rotoworld Today, 3:43 pm

    • Jeff Hoffman grabs sixth save
Jeff Hoffman struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday against the Marlins.

Advice: Hoffman worked around a throwing error from Trea Turner to secure this save. While possibly the best Phillie reliever, José Alvarado has grabbed most of the saves. He pitched on Saturday opening the door for Hoffman. He and the rest of this stellar bullpen were instrumental in the team’s huge comeback victory. Rotoworld Today, 2:00 pm

    • Aaron Judge blasts 31st home run
Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: 31 home runs and 82 RBI before the Fourth of July is inconceivable. It’s even more amazing when you consider Judge had just six home runs and 18 RBI on May 1st. There is no question that he’s the best power hitter in the game right now. Rotoworld Today, 1:39 pm

    • Hitting streak over at 25
Reynolds went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday's 4-2 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Reynolds didn't get the ball out of the infield on Sunday with a pair of groundouts to go with two strikeouts. His 25-game hitting streak is the longest in MLB this season and the fifth longest by a Pirates player since 1900. He entered June with a .249/.320/.402 slash line and finishes at .274/.341/.466. The 29-year-old has 13 homers, 46 RBI and five stolen bases for the season. Rotowire.com Today, 11:42 am
