      Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

      Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles.       Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said he's not sure whether Kimbrel (back) will be available to pitch Wednesday versus the Yankees, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

      Advice: Hyde said something similar prior to Tuesday's game and Kimbrel did not appear in that contest. It's possible the skipper is just practicing some gamesmanship here so that the Yankees have less information to work with, but either way it doesn't sound like there will be clarification prior to Wednesday's game.       Freddy Peralta was suspended five games after hitting Jose Siri on Tuesday.

      Advice: Peralta was having another stellar outing for the Brewers on Tuesday and the only run he allowed was a home run from Jose Siri. Later in the game, Peralta hit Siri in the sixth inning which was deemed an intentional act by the home plate umpire and led to his ejection, as well as Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy. Peralta will appeal the five-game suspension handed to him by Major League Baseball, while Murphy was given a two-game suspension which he is serving starting on Wednesday.     • Gets five-game ban, will appeal
      Peralta was suspended five games by Major League Baseball on Wednesday for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in Tuesday's 8-2 win, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He'll appeal the suspension.

      Advice: The right-handed was ejected from Tuesday's contest after the umpiring crew concluded that Peralta threw at Siri intentionally one plate appearance after Siri had hit a home run. Since Peralta is appealing the suspension, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Cubs, if the appeal process isn't completed before then.       Scott (1-4) earned the win Tuesday over Colorado, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk in one inning. He struck out two.

      Advice: Scott allowed the free runner to score in the top of the 10th inning on a two-out Ryan McMahon double before ultimately striking out Hunter Goodman to end the frame. The Marlins would then score twice in the bottom half, completing the comeback victory and giving Scott his first win this year. The left-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in his last six appearances -- he's 4-for-5 in save chances this year with a 2.84 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 12:13 K:BB across 12.2 innings.       Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.

      Advice: Polanco opened up the scoring with a two-run shot to right off Reynaldo Lopez in the third inning. Polanco had not driven in any runs since he last homered back on April 15. He's now reached base in five straight games, though he has struck out seven times over his last 12 at-bats. It's been a very slow campaign at the dish so far for Polanco, who's now slashing .170/.314/.290 with four homers, 10 RBI, 11 runs and a 20:37 BB:K in 121 plate appearances.     • Strikes out seven before ejection
      Peralta (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, allowing two earned runs on one hit while striking out seven batters across 5.1 innings.

      Advice: Peralta was fantastic again Tuesday, needing just 66 pitches to get through 5.1 innings while only allowing one hit -- a Jose Siri home run. The 27-year-old pitcher wasn't showing any signs of slowing down on the mound, but his start came to an abrupt and controversial end when he hit Siri with a pitch in the sixth inning. The umpires deemed the HBP an intentional act, leading to Peralta's ejection from the game. Despite being tossed, Tuesday's outing was a strong bounce-back performance from his five-run showing Thursday against Pittsburgh. He has now struck out 45 batters in 33.2 innings this year and will carry a 3.21 ERA and 0.86 WHIP into his next start -- currently projected for Monday in Kansas City.       Jorge Polanco hit a two-run homer in Seattle’s victory over Atlanta on Tuesday.

      Advice: Polanco gave Seattle a 2-0 lead with a homer off Reynaldo López, and it’s the fourth homer of the season for the second baseman. The former Minnesota Twin stalwart has gotten off to a slow start with just a .176 average and .290 slugging mark, but it seems very likely the results will kick into high gear over the next few weeks/months.
