    • Brenton Doyle homers again, Rockies edge Royals
Brenton Doyle clubbed a two-run homer on Saturday, leading the Rockies to a 3-1 win over the Royals.

Advice: Doyle’s 408-foot moonshot off Royals starter Seth Lugo in the second-inning was his fourth round-tripper in his last five contests and also gave Colorado an early advantage that they didn’t relinquish. The 26-year-old was already a brilliant defender in center field coming into the year, but he’s made some serious strides at the plate this season with 11 homers and 20 steals already heading into the All-Star break. He’s on fire at the moment, batting a surreal .423 (11-for-26) with four homers, nine RBI and one steal over his last seven contests. Rotoworld Today, 3:22 am

    • Clean inning for save
Scott struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Scott is on a 10-inning scoreless streak, during which he's maintained an 11:3 K:BB with five saves and a win. The closer continues to excel for the Marlins, though the team's poor performance has limited him to 13 saves this year. He's posted a 1.42 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 42:23 K:BB through 38 innings, though he's made progress to cut back on walks during his recent strong stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm

    • Trea Turner plates lone run in loss to Braves
Trea Turner went 1-for-4 and drove in the Phillies’ lone run in Saturday night’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: Turner got the Phillies on the board with a run-scoring single off of Spencer Schwellenbach in the third inning that plated Johan Rojas. That would be all of the offense that they could muster in the contest. The 31-year-old shortstop has been terrific when he has been on the field this season, hitting .340/.383/.505 with seven homers, 23 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 50 games. • Padres place Yu Darvish on restricted list
Padres placed RHP Yu Darvish on the restricted list.

Advice: Padres’ manager Mike Shildt told reporters on Saturday that Darvish is dealing with a personal matter involving his family but wouldn’t elaborate. It’s not clear how long he’ll be away from the team for. The 37-year-old hurler is battling elbow inflammation in addition to his strained groin. Once he’s back with the club and ready physically, he’s likely to need at least a couple of rehab starts before he’s ready to return to action. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:29 pm

    • Placed on restricted list
The Padres placed Darvish (elbow) on the restricted list Saturday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Darvish has been on the injured list since the beginning of June due to a groin strain and right elbow inflammation, but he will now move to the restricted list as he deals with a personal matter. The Padres didn't provide any information regarding how long the 37-year-old might be away from the team. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:05 pm

    • Scott picks up 13th save, lowers ERA to 1.42
Tanner Scott threw a scoreless inning to get a save Saturday against the White Sox.

Advice: Scott had his good control Saturday — something that isn’t always there even with his gaudy numbers — and threw 10-of-14 pitches for strikes while picking up a punchout. It’s the 13th save of the season; a more impressive number when you consider Miami has won only 31 games. Scott is very likely going to be playing for a new team by the end of July. The question is whether it’ll be in a fantasy-relevant situation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:52 pm

    • To play catch next week
Yamamoto (shoulder) will begin playing catch next week, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Yamamoto has been shut down from throwing since being diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain June 16 but will resume a throwing program in the coming days. The 25-year-old is no longer feeling pain in his shoulder and seems to be on track for an August return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Idle Saturday
Jones isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Jones has gone just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts over his last four games, and the Rockies will give him a chance to clear his head Saturday. Sam Hilliard will get the nod to start in left field instead while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:49 pm

    • Getting breather against LHP
Gimenez isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: After going 3-for-3 with an RBI during Friday's loss, Gimenez will step out of the lineup Saturday against left-handed starter Kyle Harrison. Angel Martinez will fill the opening at second base and bat second. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:57 am
