    • Will begin swinging this week
      Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas (ribs) will begin swinging a bat this week, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

      Advice: Casas underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is apparently ready to take the next step. He had been lightly swinging a bat but never graduated to swinging with full force.       Abrams went 3-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Abrams has rattled off three hits in four of his last five games, and he's added three steals, three RBI and eight runs scored in that span. The shortstop's sizzling stretch has him up to a .283/.335/.507 slash line through 71 contests. His .842 OPS is his highest mark since May 12.       CJ Abrams went 3-for-3 with two walks Tuesday against the Padres.

      Advice: It’s too bad this netted Abrams only one run and one RBI, even though the Nationals scored seven times. Unfortunately, the play from Abrams in this game that everyone will see was him being thrown out after lazily going back to first base following a single. He was also picked off first base in the game. He later appeared to have a stolen base, only to wind up getting sent back to first base because the umpire interfered with the catcher’s throw.       Henderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in a 10-8 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

      Advice: Henderson hit a two-run home run in the first inning then walked and scored in the third. He later singled and scored in the seventh frame and added another walk in the eighth. Henderson registered his seventh-multi hit game in June and is now slashing .333/.436/.667 with seven home runs and 14 RBI this month.     • Gleyber Torres continues to deal with groin issue
      Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Tuesday’s game that Gleyber Torres’s failure to run hard to first base in the eighth was a product of his groin issue.

      Advice: Torres left Thursday and missed Friday’s game with the groin problem before returning Saturday.       Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Tuesday in the Orioles’ loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Henderson took Guardians lefty Logan Allen deep in the opening frame for his 25th big fly of the season as part of another multi-hit performance. The 22-year-old franchise cornerstone has lived up to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations entering the year by delivering a robust .282/.383/.607 triple-slash line with 69 runs scored, 25 homers, 55 RBI and 13 steals over 78 contests.     • Kyle Tucker (shin) ‘close’ to resuming running
      Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking swings on Sunday and could resume running within the next few days.

      Advice: The revelation comes courtesy of a team statement. It’s a welcome relief for fantasy managers as we were honestly starting to wonder whether Tucker was dealing with something more serious than merely a shin contusion. He’ll need at least a couple minor league rehab contests to get back up to speed after he’s ready to get back into game action, but it doesn’t sound like he’s too far away from making it back to Houston.       Tucker (shin) took swings off a tee Sunday and could be cleared to begin running soon, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Tucker's recovery from a right shin contusion has dragged on longer than anticipated, but it looks like he's finally turned a corner as he resumes baseball activities. He's more than three weeks removed from suffering the injury and still has some hoops to jump through, so he could require a rehab assignment before rejoining the Astros' active roster.     • Forced to IL with blister issue
      The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left finger blister.

      Advice: Lodolo battled the blister issue during his start this past Sunday against the Red Sox, and the Reds have opted to give the left-hander some down time in order to let the finger heal. He had been slated to start Friday in St. Louis, but the Reds will now need a substitute.
