    • Brice Turang slugs grand slam in loss to Padres
Brice Turang singled twice, drew a walk and belted a grand slam on Saturday night as the Brewers were thwarted by the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: Turang led off the game with a walk but was gunned down by Kyle Higashioka while attempting to steal second base. He then singled to center in the third inning and was once again cut down trying to nab second base. Turang had been caught stealing just twice all season entering play on Saturday. He then prevented a shut out with a two-out grand slam off of Jhony Brito in the ninth inning that pulled the Brewers to within two runs at 6-4. With his three-hit effort, the 24-year-old infielder is now hitting .296/.360/.416 with five homers, 31 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 30 attempts on the season. Rotoworld Today, 6:59 pm

    • Strikes out 10 in win
Taillon (4-3) earned the win against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Taillon was excellent Saturday, with a solo home run by Francisco Alvarez in the fifth inning being his only blemish. He generated an impressive 15 swinging strikes on 93 pitches and notched a season-high 10 punchouts. Taillon has logged three consecutive quality starts and now owns a 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB over 68.1 innings this season. The 32-year-old lines up for a start against the Giants next week. • Active early in win
Suzuki went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Suzuki opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning then stole second and scored in the same frame. He later added a double in the fifth. Suzuki is slashing .292/.395/.523 with seven-multi hit efforts in 65 June at-bats. The 29-year-old is contributing a bit of everything this season, slashing .269/.347/.461 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and seven steals through 197 at-bats. Rotowire.com Today, 6:45 pm

    • Pivetta allows three in no-decision against Reds
Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Pivetta gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. He was on the hook for the loss before a late comeback by the Red Sox offense. It was another pedestrian start from Pivetta that might be becoming a trend. In his first eight starts of the year, he had 51 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, he’s had just 13 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home next weekend.

    • Brandon Lowe suffers broken pinkie toe on Saturday
Brandon Lowe suffered a broken right pinkie toe when he was hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like Lowe should require a trip to the injured list. There’s nothing that you can really do about a broken toe, it’s more of a pain tolerance thing than anything. Expect him to miss a game or two — and perhaps be less active on the basepaths — but it shouldn’t lead to an extended absence for the 29-year-old slugger. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm

    • Suffers broken toe
Lowe suffered a broken pinky toe during Saturday's game against the Pirates, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Lowe was hit by a pitch in the first inning of the contest and was removed in the sixth frame with what was initially deemed a right foot contusion. However, further evaluation showed that Lowe actually sustained a broken toe. Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Lowe isn't expected to require an IL stint at this point. • Eflin goes seven, allows four in loss to Pirates
Zach Eflin allowed four runs in seven innings and got the loss against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Eflin gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. This was the longest of Eflin’s four starts since coming off the injured list and his second start in a row with at least six strikeouts. His ERA on the season is now 4.20. It’s safe to say Eflin hasn’t been able to repeat his breakout season last year when he won 16 games with a 3.50 ERA. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next weekend.

    • Zach Eflin gives up four over seven against PIT
Zach Eflin gave up four runs in seven innings while being charged with a loss Saturday to the Pirates.

Advice: Eflin struck out six while issuing one walk. The 30-year-old right-hander gave up a long homer to Oneil Cruz in the first, and then gave up three runs in the third before settling down nicely. It was far from an abhorrent start, but Jared Jones was the better starter Saturday afternoon. Eflin now has a 4.20 ERA and (much more impressive) 63/6 K/BB through his 81 1/3 innings. • Brandon Lowe leaves game with foot contusion
Brandon Lowe was pulled from Saturday’s battle against the Pirates with a right foot contusion.

Advice: It’s unclear exactly when the injury occurred, but Lowe was lifted from Saturday’s game just before his at-bat in the fifth inning. He should be considered day-to-day, but given his extensive injury history, you just never know how much time Lowe will need before he’s able to return to the lineup. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 pm
