      Advice: Martin had given no indication of injury in his performance, having turned in five straight scoreless appearances. Manager Alex Cora said Friday that he doesn't believe Martin's injury is serious, although there's no timetable for the reliever's return at this juncture.       Advice: The 38-year-old hurler has been effective when he has been able to take the mound this season, posting a 3.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 29/2 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings in his 26 appearances. Elbow issues are never encouraging though and it’s not yet clear how long Martin is expected to be shelved for.       Advice: Suzuki got the scoring started Friday with a two-run home run off Griffin Canning in the first inning.       Nootbaar (oblique) will remain on his rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield for at least a couple more days to work on his timing at the plate, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The initial expectation was that Nootbaar would rejoin the Cardinals on the road for their weekend series against the Nationals, but he's evidently not satisfied with his swing and will work to fine-tune things for a bit longer.       Moreno went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.
