    • Lasts just four innings Wednesday
Pepiot (4-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in four innings. He did not strike out a batter.

Advice: Pepiot made it through the first two innings unscathed, but the Royals got to him for two runs in the third on a couple of hits. He made quick work in the fourth but was replaced after throwing 87 pitches. The Rays offense mustered up just two runs, leaving Pepiot in line for the loss. His last win came back on June 4 against Miami. Pepiot also has never had less than two strikeouts, starting or relieving in any MLB game before having zero Wednesday. It was another short start for the 26-year-old, who hasn't reached six innings in each of his last four starts. Pepiot will take a 4.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 83:28 K:BB (75.2 IP) into a start against the Yankees next week. Rotowire.com Today, 8:27 am

    • Brewers bolster rotation with Aaron Civale trade
Brewers acquired RHP Aaron Civale from the Rays for SS Gregory Barrios.

Advice: It doesn’t come as a total shock to see another analytically-driven front office rolling the dice on Civale after he spent the first couple seasons of his career in Cleveland and Tampa Bay’s pitching development engines. The 29-year-old righty was phenomenal last year for the Rays following a midseason trade from the Guardians, but his strikeout rate has regressed back to previous level this year and he’s struggled to a pedestrian 5.07 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 84/27 K/BB ratio across 87 innings (17 starts). Even if the strikeouts don’t return, Civale represents an upgrade for Milwaukee’s injury-ravaged starting rotation moving forward, even if it’s a tough landing spot for fantasy purposes from a park factors standpoint. • Two thefts in win
Kim went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Kim has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) in that span. His pair of steals Wednesday were his first since June 20, and he's up to 18 thefts on 21 attempts this season. The infielder has added a .227/.335/.383 slash line with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 46 runs scored, 10 doubles and three triples through 88 contests. One of Kim, Luis Arraez, Jake Cronenworth or Donovan Solano is likely to lose hold of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns, which could be in about a week if he can get through a rehab assignment without setbacks. • Christian Yelich homers in win over Rockies
Christian Yelich went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk to power the Brewers to a 3-0 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Yelich put the Brewers on the board early with a solo homer off Dakota Hudson in the first inning. He added a double in the third, then drew a walk in the fifth. The 32-year-old outfielder is in the middle of his best season since 2019, slashing .333/.408/.519 with nine homers, 37 runs scored, 37 RBI, and 19 steals across 263 plate appearances. • Ryan Pepiot all over the place against Royals
Ryan Pepiot labored through four innings on Wednesday against the Royals. He allowed four hits and three walks without striking out a batter in a no-decision.

Advice: Pepiot could not place his fastball in this one. Too many were in the heart of the zone and so many more were way off the plate. Of the 43 pitches he threw, the Royals swung-and-missed at just one and took only four called strikes. That’s untenable for a pitch he threw 49% of the time. Without it working, he kept falling behind and had to grind through difficult innings. Things will not get easier in his next scheduled start against the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Aaron Judge tops vote getters in American League
Aaron Judge led all vote getters in Phase 1 of voting for the All-Star Game and was named to his sixth American League All-Star squad on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s the fourth straight year that Judge will represent the American League in the Mid-Summer Classic. Here’s who will join him in the starting lineup for the American League All-Stars (with their number of times making the All-Star team and starting in the game in parentheses): 1B: Vladimir Guerrero (4 - 3x starter), 2B: Jose Altuve (9, 6x starter), SS: Gunnar Henderson (1 - 1x starter), 3B; Jose Ramirez (6 - 3x starter), C: Adley Rutschman (2 - 1x starter), OF: Aaron Judge (6 - 6x starter), Juan Soto (4 - 1x starter), Steven Kwan (1- 1x starter) and DH: Yordan Alvarez (3 - 1x starter). • Receiving Wednesday off
O'Hoppe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: O'Hoppe is in the midst of a modest six-game hit streak and has gone 8-for-19 with two homers and three walks during that span, but he'll sit Wednesday after making five straight starts. Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Davis Daniel. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime. • Out through All-Star break
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung will be shut down until next week to allow his right wrist to rest, and the third baseman will not return until after the All-Star break, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Jung had his swing test Saturday cancelled due to soreness in his right wrist. While a specialist confirmed that there is no structural damage, the lingering pain has kept Jung from swinging a bat since June 20. The hope for Jung is that the extended rest will allow the pain in his wrist to subside long enough to resume swinging a bat before ramping up through a rehab assignment. The 26-year-old appeared in just four games at the beginning of the season before sustaining a fractured right wrist due to being hit by a pitch in early April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:33 pm
