Advice: The star 34-year-old backstop was removed from Friday’s game due to discomfort in his right knee. Not close to returningMuncy (oblique) is at least a week away from swinging a bat and doesn't have a timeline for return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Advice: Muncy's recovery from a right oblique strain has been unexpectedly slow, and he doesn't seem particularly close to returning. The 33-year-old hasn't swung a bat in a few weeks and won't be cleared for swings for at least another week. Advice: Trout has been out of action since being diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee near the end of April. Los Angeles has thus far kept him on the 10-day IL, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere near being activated -- or even beginning a minor-league rehab stint -- given his lack of baseball activity. Advice: The knuckleballer delivered his fourth straight quality start while lasting seven innings for just the second time this season, but San Diego's offense gave little support. Waldron has gone seven straight outings in which he's pitched at least five innings and allowed two runs or fewer, posting a stellar 1.91 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB through 42.1 innings over that stretch. Quality start against O'sSuarez came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Orioles, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.
Advice: The southpaw delivered his ninth quality start of the season on 88 pitches (57 strikes), but Suarez was denied his 11th win in a wild affair that saw half the game's runs cross the plate after the ninth inning. Since his nine-start win streak ended in late May, the 28-year-old has posted a 3.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB through 20.1 innings over four outings.
