    • Red Sox push Brayan Bello’s next start back
      Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters on Wednesday that Brayan Bello’s next start will be pushed back until Wednesday.

      Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Wednesday that Williams (back) could return from the 60-day injured list sooner than his initial mid-to-late-July recovery timeline, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

      Advice: Williams was scheduled for a bullpen session Wednesday, which would have marked his first time throwing off a mound since being shut down during spring training with multiple stress fractures in his back. He will need to throw off the bump multiple times and eventually go out on a rehab assignment before being activated.       Advice: All seven runs crossed the plate in a disastrous third inning that saw Bello put the first six batters on base before ceding an RBI groundout to former teammate Justin Turner. The right-hander has been tagged for four runs or more in five of his last eight starts, and he carries a bloated 7.49 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 37:20 K:BB through 39.2 innings over that stretch. He next heads to Chase Field on Thursday for a bullpen session, which will be caught by Gabriel Moreno, who is nursing a sprained left thumb. He largely stayed out of trouble, with just two runners reaching scoring position and nobody surpassing first base until the fourth inning. After stumbling early in the season, Brown has been utterly dominant in June, owning a 1.16 ERA with a 36:8 K:BB across 31.0 innings.       Advice: Brown was allowed to keep things in cruise control after his offense provided him five runs in the bottom of the first. The righty moved his season record to 5-5 on the year and saw his ERA drop to 4.37. Brown has enjoyed a solid June, allowing just four earned runs over 31 innings pitched while posting a 36:8 K:BB ratio.       Brayan Bello allowed seven runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

      Advice: Bello held the Blue Jays scoreless for the first two innings, but the wheels fell off in a big way in the third inning. The first six batters of the inning reached before Bello could get a groundout, but then a home run to George Springer chased him from the game. The right-hander did get six whiffs on 20 swings in his limited time but he threw on 42 percent of his pitches in the strike zone and had no feel for anything on the night. After a strong start to the season, Bello has struggled over his final seven starts, and the loss of feel for his changeup, which has been his primary pitch in his young career, is concerning.       Advice: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters they’ll make a decision on Gallen’s next step following his latest throwing session. The hope here for fantasy managers is that the 28-year-old ace will be ready to jump right back into Arizona’s starting rotation without needing a rehab assignment.
