    • Receiving Sunday off
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Astros.

Advice: It's a well-deserved day off for Alvarez, who posted a .471/.558/.882 slash line with five doubles and three homers while starting the past 17 games. Luis Torrens will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Luis Severino on Sunday. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago
    • Taking seat Sunday
O'Neill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old started the previous five contests but will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale after going 0-for-8 with five strikeouts through the first two games versus San Diego. Jarren Duran will shift to left field while Emmanuel Valdez takes O'Neill's spot in the lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 7:21 am

    • Fares well in no-decision
Myers allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Myers came into Saturday having given up one or zero runs in four straight starts, all of which ended with his name in the win column. The right-hander couldn't extend the win streak Saturday, but he still pitched pretty well to notch his fourth quality start of the campaign. June was a breakout month for Myers, who was actually optioned to Triple-A on the first day of the month following a poor start against the White Sox on May 31. Since returning to the big club, he has gone 4-0 while posting a 1.44 ERA and 24:8 K:BB over 31.1 frames across five starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm

    • Grabs 11th save
Sewald struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Sewald has picked up saves in four straight appearances and in seven of his 10 outings in June. The closer has been virtually untouchable this month, allowing two hits, two walks and two hit batsmen while striking out six over 8.2 innings. He's a perfect 11-for-11 in save chances with a 0.57 ERA, 0.51 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across 15.2 innings overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 pm

    • Tobias Myers gets quality start, no-decision
Tobias Myers went six innings while allowing three runs and not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Myers dealt with quite a bit of traffic Saturday, as he allowed seven hits and also issued a pair of walks. He was able to work around that traffic for the most part, thanks largely to six strikeouts and a couple of double plays. The 25-year-old gave up a two-run homer to Michael Busch in the first, but it was (mostly) smooth sailing from that point on. Myers does see his ERA jump up to 3.26, but that’s still a very solid number for the right-handed hurler. He faces Colorado next, and it’s worth pointing out that start will take place in Denver. • Sewald picks up 11th save against Athletics
Paul Sewald tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Sewald’s save was his 11th of the season. He retired the Athletics in order in the ninth inning while recording one strikeout. Sewald hasn’t been scored on in his last 16 appearances this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:32 pm

    • Day off Saturday
Mountcastle isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Mountcastle will get a day to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-10 at the plate over his last three games. Ryan O'Hearn will fill in for Mountcastle at first base, moving Heston Kjerstad into the DH spot while Colton Cowser picks up another start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:37 pm

    • Ryan Mountcastle absent from O’s lineup Saturday
Ryan Mountcastle is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Rangers.

Advice: It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 27-year-old slugger. Ryan O’Hearn will spell Mountcastle at first base, allowing Heston Kjerstad to function as the team’s designated hitter while Colton Cowser covers left field against Michael Lorenzen and the Rangers on Friday evening in Baltimore. • Back in action Saturday
Winker (knee) is starting in left field and batting third Saturday against the Rays.

Advice: Winker was battling knee problems after getting his foot caught in the outfield grass during the first inning of Friday's game, but he appears to be in good enough shape to play Saturday. The 30-year-old has slashed .260/.377/.412 through 302 plate appearances this season, though he may see limited work in the outfield after top prospect James Wood officially joins the Nationals for his MLB debut Monday.
