    • Blake Treinen (lung) nearing activation from IL
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Blake Treinen (lung) could be activated from the injured list during the team’s current homestand.

Advice: Treinen worked in back-to-back minor league games without issue on Wednesday and Thursday — which was the last hurdle that he needed to clear before activation. Expect the 35-year-old right-hander to rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen any day now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:20 pm

    • Sitting Friday
Heim is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Kansas City.

Advice: Heim started the previous six games and will receive a day off after going 4-for-19 with no extra-base hits during that span. Andrew Knizner will step in behind the plate to catch Michael Lorenzen. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:31 pm
    • On base three times in win
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Cubs.

Advice: The 31-year-old is coming to life from the leadoff spot, reaching base multiple times in five of his last seven starts and batting .286 (8-for-28) over that stretch with a .394 OBP. Nimmo's .216/.365/.360 slash line on the season remains disappointing for fantasy purposes, but he's chipped in three homers, two steals, 15 runs and 20 RBI in 30 contests. • Edwin Díaz hurls two scoreless innings vs. Cubs
Edwin Díaz hurled two scoreless innings against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: It comes in a non-save situation, but fantasy managers who roster Díaz get to see their ERA drop with the scoreless frames. He also picked up a pair of strikeouts, and that improves his K/BB to 19/4 over 12 2/3 innings. There really hasn’t been much — if any — rust to shake off for Díaz after missing all of 2023. • Yankees activate Alex Verdugo from paternity list
Yankees activated OF Alex Verdugo from the paternity list.

Advice: Verdugo will return for the final game of a four-game series against Baltimore. The 27-year-old outfielder is on pace for his best OPS percentage since 2020 when he was with the Red Sox. He’s currently slashing .267/.358/.446 across 120 plate appearances this season. • Returns from paternity leave
The Yankees activated Verdugo from the paternity list Thursday.

Advice: Verdugo missed three games while tending to more important personal matters, but he's rejoined the club Thursday and presumably will be back in the lineup for their afternoon tilt against the Orioles. Aaron Judge played some left field while Verdugo was away but will now return to center field. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:20 am

    • Secures eighth save
Iglesias gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: It wasn't the sharpest appearance for Iglesias, who put two batters on base before getting an out, but he settled down and took care of the heart of Seattle's order without too much more trouble. The right-hander has converted eight of his nine save chances to begin the year while posting a typically stingy 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 12.1 innings, but there are signs Iglesias isn't quite in peak form -- his 94.5 mph average fastball is his lowest velocity since 2016, and his 18.0 percent strikeout rate is a massive drop from the 29.4 percent mark he delivered last season. His top velocity Wednesday was 95.3 mph, on a two-seamer to Luke Raley. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:16 am
    • Notches third straight W
Wheeler (3-3) picked up the win Wednesday against the Angels, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Although Wheeler wasn't able to extend his streak of one-hit starts, he delivered another excellent outing. His lone blemish came in the second inning when Ehire Adrianza swatted a two-out solo homer. Wheeler has been one of the best arms in baseball lately, having surrendered one run on seven hits with 22 strikeouts in 18.1 innings across his last three starts. He'll look to keep the ball rolling in a tentative matchup with the Blue Jays next Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:47 pm

    • Zack Wheeler collects win over Angels on Wednesday
Zack Wheeler struck out six and yielded one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Wheeler did what he does best out in Los Angeles, pounding the strike zone and limiting hard contact against an injury-depleted Angels lineup. The 33-year-old fantasy ace threw 67 of 106 pitches for strikes and allowed just five batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 95 mph. A second-inning solo shot from veteran utility specialist Ehire Adrianza represented the lone tally against him over five frames. He’s allowed just one run over 18 1/3 innings in his last three starts since April 20. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 52/12 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:06 pm
