    • Bo Bichette collects RBI in loss to Athletics
Bo Bichette went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Friday in the Blue Jays’ loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Bichette got Toronto on the scoreboard in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single off Athletics reliever Austin Adams following a leadoff double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The 26-year-old shortstop has struggled this season to a lackluster .238 batting average to go along with just 19 runs scored, four homers, 26 RBI and four steals across 60 contests. • Pops fourth homer
Robert went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Robert did his damage in the opening inning to tally his fourth home run of the season and second in four games since returning from the injured list. Manager Pedro Grifol suggested that Robert would require regular rest days, though he has started every matchup since being activated and has gone a combined 3-for-16 with eight strikeouts. • Keeps slugging Friday
Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and added a two-run homer in the seventh. He's gone yard in four straight contests, an impressive run of power after he went 39 games without a homer prior to this surge. The catcher is at a .258/.285/.416 slash line, seven long balls, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 56 contests. With Kyle Tucker (lower leg) going on the injured list Friday, Yordan Alvarez has seen more time in the field, giving the Astros the option of moving Diaz to designated hitter rather than having him at catcher full-time in the short term. • Nico Hoerner out of lineup due to hand injury
Cubs manager Craig Counsell now says X-rays last night on Nico Hoerner’s hand came back “somewhat inconclusive,” and the second baseman is not playing in Friday’s game.

Advice: It was originally reported that the X-rays came back negative after Hoerner was hit on the right hand by a pitch. Hoerner, though, had some trouble gripping the bat and swinging today. Hopefully, this is still just a day-to-day thing. There is the potential for some bad news, though. David Bote is starting at second base tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:26 pm

    • Abner Uribe (knee) goes on minor league IL
Abner Uribe was placed on the IL at Triple-A Nashville because of a right knee injury.

Advice: The Brewers will know more after he has an MRI next week. Uribe opened the year as the Brewers’ primary closer, but he was sent down May 1 after amassing a 6.91 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. He allowed just one run but walked seven in 8 2/3 innings in Triple-A before getting hurt. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:08 pm

    • Sitting out after HBP
Hoerner is not in Friday's lineup in Cincinnati after being hit on the hand by a pitch in Thursday's win over the White Sox, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Hoerner was struck by a pitch in the fourth inning Thursday but stayed in and finished that game. He underwent a precautionary X-ray afterward, which evidently came back clean. However, it could be dealing with some residual soreness, hence his absence from Friday's lineup. Consider him day-to-day. David Bote will handle second base Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm

    • Shouldn't miss next start
Flaherty (back) said he expects "all systems go" for his next start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against Washington, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Flaherty was pulled after 60 pitches in his last start due to back tightness but it seems as though he's avoided any significant injury and is all but confirmed to face Washington. Considering back injuries can be touch-and-go, there remains a small risk that the issue will flare up again. Regardless, Flaherty is feeling good and is optimistic for Tuesday's start, where he'll look to extend his scoreless innings streak which stands at 11.2 innings. • Out with knee injury
Uribe was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Nashville on Friday due to a knee issue, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The specifics of the injury are unclear, and Uribe is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. The 23-year-old picked up three saves early in the season for the Brewers, but he was demoted in early May with a 6.91 ERA and 14:12 K:BB over 14 outings. Uribe was also suspended six games for his role in a benches-clearing brawling just before being demoted, though the ban was reduced to four games on appeal, per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The right-hander will have to serve that suspension once back on the major-league roster, but the current focus is getting him healthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:18 am

    • Volpe scores run, steals 12th base in win
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base against the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Volpe’s stolen base was his 12th of the season. He continues to occupy the leadoff spot in New York even after the return of D.J. LeMahieu. Volpe is up to 46 runs scored in 63 games for the Yankees this season. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:37 pm
