      Hader issued a walk over one scoreless frame Friday. He struck out two and earned a save over the Mariners.

      Advice: Hader needed 22 pitches (13 strikes) to finish off the 5-3 win but still came away with his third save as an Astro. It was his first save since April 19 and he's converted three of his four opportunities so far. He's produced an impressive 23:7 K:BB despite an unsightly 5.93 ERA through 13.2 frames.     • Josh Hader locks down third save of season
      Josh Hader fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Hader did walk a batter to put the tying run at the plate, but the left-hander was able to get a pair of strikeouts to lower his ERA to 5.93 and also pick up his third save.       Rangers placed RHP Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain.

      Advice: Eovaldi suffered the injury while twirling a gem against the Nationals on Thursday afternoon. The Rangers have not yet commented on how long they expect the 34-year-old right-hander to be sidelined for.       Pirates optioned C/OF Henry Davis to Triple-A Indianapolis.

      Advice: The 24-year-old former top overall pick opened the season as the Pirates’ starting catcher, but stumbled to a miserable .162/.280/.206 slash line with zero homers, four RBI, zero stolen bases and a 29/11 K/BB ratio over 83 plate appearances. Getting back into a rhythm at Triple-A and beating up on minor league pitching should help to restore his confidence before the Pirates bring him back up.     • Pete Fairbanks ready to start rehab on Tuesday
      Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

      Eovaldi was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a strained right groin.

      Advice: Eovaldi underwent an MRI on Friday which confirmed a right groin strain. He'll be placed on the 15-day IL -- joining Max Scherzer (back) -- while Yerry Rodriguez will join the big league roster in Eovaldi's place.       Fairbanks (arm) is set to begin a rehab stint at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday.

      Advice: Fairbanks has been dealing with a nerve issue in his throwing arm and after receiving positive results on testing done in late April, he's set to begin throwing in-game. It's unclear how long his stint in Durham will be, but once Fairbanks is back with the Rays, expect him to reclaim closing duties from Jason Adam and Garrett Cleavinger.       The Pirates optioned Davis to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

      Advice: Davis entered the season as the Pirates' clear No. 1 catcher, but he slashed just .162/.280/.206 with a 34.9 percent strikeout rate and recently had fallen into a timeshare with Joey Bart.
