• Picks up steal in loss
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base Monday in a loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Ohtani extended his on-base streak to 15 games with a first-inning single that led to the Dodgers' first run. The slugger also reached on catcher's interference in the sixth frame, and he subsequently stole second base, reached third on a wild pitch and scored the team's second run on a Will Smith groundout. Ohtani is giving the Dodgers consistent offensive production out of the No. 2 slot in the lineup, slashing .338/.384/.648 with four homers, 10 RBI< 15 runs and three stolen bases through 86 plate appearances. • Beats Dodgers in big-league debut
Parker (1-0) earned the win over the Dodgers on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out four batters over five innings.

Advice: Parker was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Monday afternoon and faced the daunting task of going up against a loaded Dodgers lineup in his first major-league outing. The 24-year-old southpaw handled the task with aplomb, allowing just four baserunners and limiting Los Angeles to a pair of runs to nab the win. Given his successful debut, Parker figures to remain in the rotation for the time being with Josiah Gray on the injured list due to a right flexor strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:44 pm
  • Looks good in big-league debut
Vanasco pitched two perfect innings in relief against the Nationals on Monday, striking out one batter.

Advice: Vanasco was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the contest and entered in the eighth inning with Los Angeles down three runs. The right-hander ended up finishing the contest, throwing an efficient 14 of 20 pitches for strikes and retiring all six batters he faced. The Dodgers are opting for a bullen game Tuesday, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, so there's a good chance Vanasco will be sent back down to the minors in short order to make room for a fresh arm. That said, his impressive major-league debut Monday should land him additional chances to pitch out of the big-league team's bullpen this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:38 pm

  • Roughed up by Nationals
Glasnow (3-1) took the loss against Washington on Monday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings.

Advice: Glasnow was absolutely dominant against Minnesota in his previous outing, striking out 14 batters over seven scoreless innings. He couldn't carry that momentum into Monday, as he took his first loss as a Dodger and gave up a season high six runs and eight hits. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the outing that Glasnow has been under the weather in recent days, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, so that may have had something to do with his subpar results against the Nationals. Given that the hurler was still able to give Los Angeles 94 pitches over five frames, there seems to be very little chance that the illness will prevent Glasnow from taking his next turn in the rotation on schedule. • Struggles with control in loss
Montas (2-2) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing five runs on three hits and five walks while striking out one batter over two innings.

Advice: Much of Montas' troubles were self-inflicted, as he issued five free passes and threw just 34 of 66 pitches for strikes. It didn't help that he was hit hard when getting Mariners batters to swing -- two of the three hits against him left the park. Montas began the season looking great, going 2-0 and allowing just one run over 11.2 frames across his first two starts. However, he's faltered with two straight losses during which he's yielded 10 runs (eight earned) over seven innings. Montas will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to come at home against the Angels this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm

  • Tosses quality start in victory
Kirby (2-2) earned the win over Cincinnati on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: Kirby was pounded for 13 runs over 7.2 frames across his previous two starts coming into Monday, but he managed to get back on the right track with a quality start and a victory. The right-hander induced 12 whiffs among his 60 strikes and racked up six punchouts after notching just five over his previous two outings combined. Kirby still has a poor 6.64 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 20.1 innings on the season, but he has two quality starts among his four appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 pm

  • Ben Brown strong for six against Diamondbacks
Ben Brown allowed only one run and one hit over six innings Monday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Brown’s command has held up surprisingly well in the majors, and his 32% CSW tonight was fueled by 3 1/2 times as many called strikes (21) as whiffs (six). The Cubs are about to get Jameson Taillon back, which might result in a demotion for Brown. He certainly doesn’t deserve it, though. He struggled in a lone relief appearance to open his major league career on March 30, but he’s since allowed two runs in 14 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:55 pm
  • Falls to 0-4
Stripling (0-4) took the loss against St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Though Stripling picked up his fourth straight loss to begin the campaign -- tied with Luis Castillo for most in the league -- he at least managed to improve upon the six-run, 11-hit performance he posted his previous time on the mound. The right-hander gave up a season-low six hits Monday and came one out away from a quality start, but he garnered only one run of support from Oakland's offense. Stripling has given the A's decent length this season by averaging nearly six innings per start, but he's well off the fantasy radar in standard leagues given his poor overall numbers. • Mitchell Parker defeats Dodgers in MLB debut
Mitchell Parker beat the Dodgers in his MLB debut Monday, throwing five innings of two-run ball and striking out four.

Advice: Parker didn’t dominate with his six missed swings on the night, but he was pretty impressive in walking none against a high-powered lineup. He gave up nine hard-hit balls, but they weren’t the kind of hard-hit balls that turn into hits; just two had xBAs over .500. We wouldn’t say there’s mixed-league potential here, but he looks like he’ll be able to hold his own if the Nationals stick with him. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:23 pm
