    • Sharp again Wednesday
Sanchez (3-3) earned the win Wednesday, holding the Giants to four hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: It was another impressive effort from Sanchez, who's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts this season. The 27-year-old left-hander lowered his ERA to 2.83 with a 1.39 WHIP and 56:20 K:BB across 60.1 innings. Sanchez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently slated for early next week against Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:12 pm
    • Early exit against Detroit
Jones (3-5) took the loss in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Tigers, coughing up seven runs (five earned) on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The rookie right-hander didn't get much help from his defense, but he also didn't have his best stuff and failed to complete at least five innings for the first time this season. Jones' two strikeouts were also a season low, as he managed only four swinging strikes among his 83 pitches. The 22-year-old sports a 3.55 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 70:12 K:BB through his first 63.1 big-league innings. Jones will look to get back on track in his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:59 pm

    • Cristopher Sánchez fans seven to defeat Giants
Cristopher Sánchez recorded seven strikeouts over six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Giants.

Advice: Sánchez had little trouble carving up a San Francisco lineup that has been one of the better in baseball this season against left-handed pitching, scattering four hits and one walk, needing just 96 pitches (68 strikes) to complete six frames. The 27-year-old lefty notched at least seven punchouts for the fifth time in 11 starts this season, inducing 11 swinging strikes and finishing with a solid 34 percent CSW. He’ll carry a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 56/20 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Brewers. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:25 pm
    • Avoids IL, but could need time off
Megill (elbow) could be unavailable to pitch for a few days, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. While X-rays came back negative and he has avoided the injured list for the time being, Megill might need a little time for the elbow to calm down. Joel Payamps would seem to be the most likely candidate for saves while Megill is unavailable. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:08 pm

    • Trevor Megill (elbow) expects to avoid IL stint
The Brewers aren’t currently planning to put Trevor Megill on the IL after he was hit in the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday’s game.

Advice: Megill won’t be available today and might still need a couple of more days afterwards, but the Brewers are pleased with how things look right now. Joel Payamps might pick up a save or two while Megill is down. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:33 pm

    • Jared Jones gives up seven runs in rough outing
Jared Jones surrendered seven runs — five earned — in 4 1/3 innings in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Tigers.

Advice: He struck out just two. Jones did not have his best stuff after having his start pushed back a day; his 96.0 mph average fastball velocity was down 1.3 mph from his season mark. He did have some bad luck in the fifth; Wenceel Pérez hit what should have been an inning-ending double play ball to second, but Nick Gonzales went for the tag on Jake Rogers and had the ball jarred loose, resulting in no outs. The next batter hit a three-run homer, and after a subsequent double, Jones was lifted. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:15 pm

    • Avoids fracture
Manager Pat Murphy said after Tuesday's loss to the Cubs that Megill did not suffer a fracture on the line drive that hit his arm in the 10th inning, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: It remains unclear whether or not Megill will need to spend time on the injured list, but the 30-year-old reliever seems to have avoided the worst. The righty has been operating as Milwaukee's primary closer with Devin Williams (back) on the injured list, though the ninth inning may be given to Hoby Milner or Joel Payamps if Megill is forced to miss time. • Murphy: Trevor Megill didn’t fracture right elbow
Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters late Tuesday that Trevor Megill didn’t suffer a fracture when he was hit on the right elbow by a line-drive.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging update at Megill appears to have avoided serious injury after being struck directly on the right elbow by a 99-mph line-drive during Tuesday’s extra-inning showdown against the Cubs. The 30-year-old stopper is presumably day-to-day for the moment with a contusion, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he wound up requiring a trip to the injured list, just to bring in a fresh arm. • Exits with injury
Megill was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit in the right arm by a line drive, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Megill entered Tuesday's game in the 10th inning and threw three pitches to Mike Tauchman before getting taking a 99-mph line drive off his right (throwing) arm. Megill immediately came out of the game and will presumably head into the clubhouse for imaging. The Brewers should have more information on his status following Tuesday's contest.
