    • Takes third loss in quality start
Lugo (11-3) was tagged with the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lugo allowed baserunners in five of his six innings of work but managed to limit the damage to three runs (two earned) as Kansas City's offense struggled to get any momentum going behind him. The right-hander induced 15 swings and misses on the night and has now recorded at least five strikeouts in four consecutive starts. Lugo has also posted quality starts in five straight and hasn't given up more than two runs in each of his last five outings. His 2.21 ERA on the season currently leads the majors, while his 11 wins also have him tied with Chris Sale for the league lead. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

    • Allows two runs over five frames
Paxton did not factor into the decision in a win over Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings while striking out three.

Advice: Paxton allowed one run to come across in the opening frame before surrendering just three hits and a walk from that point on. Unfortunately, one of those hits was a solo home run off the bat of Rhys Hoskins, marking the second start in a row in which the lefty's given up the long ball and third time in his last three outings. Paxton threw only 10 of his 21 first pitches for strikes on the night and walked multiple batters for the third straight start. He'll look to pick up the first win since June 17 (span of three starts) when the Dodgers travel to Detroit next week to take on the Tigers. Rotowire.com Today, 5:55 am

    • Seth Lugo allows three runs in loss to Rockies
Seth Lugo was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Saturday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Lugo fell behind early when he surrendered a two-run homer to Rockies emerging star Brenton Doyle in the second inning. He managed to limit the damage to just a run-scoring single by Ryan McMahon in the fifth-inning, but it was enough to saddle him with a loss for just the third time this year. The 34-year-old righty is tied with Braves ace Chris Sale with a major league-leading 11 wins this season to accompany a sparkling 2.21 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 110/29 K/BB ratio across 122 innings (19 starts). There’s some regression looming, but he’s been a revelation this season in his Kansas City debut. He’ll wrap up the first half on Saturday with a road matchup against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. • James Paxton pitches well in no-decision Saturday
James Paxton had to settle for a tough-luck no-decision on Saturday after limiting the Brewers to two runs on four hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 35-year-old southpaw walked two batters while striking out three on the day. The Brewers scratched out a run in the opening inning on a two-out RBI single by Willy Adames. Paxton then served up a solo homer to Rhys Hoskins in the fourth. The Big Maple got just five swings and misses on 83 pitches on the night, leading to an underwhelming CSW of just 19 percent. Paxton will look to finish the first half strong as he carries a 4.24 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 56/40 K/BB ratio (80 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Tigers in Detroit. • Ties major-league record in win
Miranda went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros. He tied a major-league record in the fourth inning by recording a hit in his 12th consecutive at-bat.

Advice: It's safe to say Miranda has been on fire, registering his third consecutive multi-hit effort and extending his overall hit streak to 10 games. He has enjoyed a major bounce-back campaign in 2024, slashing .328/.370/.531 with nine home runs, 43 RBI and 35 runs scored over 262 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:31 pm

    • Jose Miranda ties record with hit in 12 straight at-bats
Jose Miranda went 2-for-3 with one RBI in a 9-3 win against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Miranda came into this contest having collected a hit in ten straight at-bats. After he was hit by a pitch in the first inning, he made it 11 straight at-bats with a single in the second to drive in a run. And with another base hit in the fourth inning, Miranda tied the all-time record with a hit in 12 consecutive at-bats. The streak would end with a fly out in the sixth. The 26-year-old infielder is slashing .328/.370/.531 with nine homers and 43 RBI across 262 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:55 pm

    • Swipes bag Friday
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Burleson is heating up again, going 7-for-21 (.333) over his last five games. The steal was his first since June 23, and he's offered decent speed for a player best known for his power. The 25-year-old is slashing .281/.317/.459 with 13 home runs, six steals, 42 RBI, 34 runs scored and 11 doubles over 301 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 am

    • Unlikely to play in All-Star Game
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Tatis (quadriceps) isn't likely to be able to play in the All-Star Game, Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Tatis was voted into the Midsummer Classic as a starter in the outfield alongside teammate Jurickson Profar, but it appears the former will need to sit out the contest. This isn't a surprising development, as Tatis had previously indicated that he could remain on the injured list until after the All-Star break. Tatis' election to the All-Star Game came as a result of a strong first half of the campaign during which he's slashed .279/.354/.468 with 14 homers, 36 RBI, 50 runs and eight stolen bases over 80 contests. • Hit streak reaches double digits
Seager went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 3-0 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Seager lashed a two-run double in the third inning and came around to score on a Nathaniel Lowe single. The double extended Seager's hit streak to 10 games, during which he's 13-for-38 (.342) with five doubles, a home run, five RBI and five additional runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:05 am
