    • Josh Hader fans two in non-save situation vs. M’s
Josh Hader struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader got the call to protect a four-run advantage in a non-save situation and made things interesting by giving up singles to Julio Rodríguez and Ty France before striking out Dominic Canzone and getting Mitch Haniger to ground out to extinguish the threat. The 30-year-old lefty has allowed just two runs with a 20/4 K/BB ratio across 11 appearances since the start of May. Simply put, he remains one of the few elite closers in the fantasy landscape. • Murphy: Rhys Hoskins might return this weekend
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Thursday that Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) has a chance to return this weekend.

Advice: Hoskins is roughly two weeks removed from a right hamstring strain that he suffered earlier this month and progressed to on-field running this week. There’s optimism he’ll be ready to roll by early next week, but it sounds like there’s a possibility he’s on track for this weekend when the Brewers face the White Sox. • Pasquantino homers Thursday in return to lineup
Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run on Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Pasquantino went deep for the sixth time this season following a one-game absence recovering from a left leg injury that he suffered earlier this week. He’s hitting just .229 with a .234 BABIP this year. Pasquantino’s career BABIP is .267 and with better luck on balls in play we should expect him to hit at least .260 over the course of the rest of the season. Even with his poor average and only six home runs, he’s been able to drive in runs as he’s now up to 35 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:14 pm
    • Return this weekend possible
Hoskins (hamstring) could be activated as soon as this weekend's series versus the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hoskins has ramped up his running in recent days and is nearly ready to play in games. It's possible the Brewers will ask him to play a few rehab games with Single-A Wisconsin this weekend, and if that happens, it will set Hoskins up for a return Monday at his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia. Hoskins has missed the last two weeks of action with a right hamstring strain. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:11 am

    • Draws back into lineup
Pasquantino (shin) will start at designated hitter and will bat third in Thursday's game against the Twins.

Advice: After exiting early in Tuesday's 4-2 loss when Byron Buxton's knee collided with his left shin, Pasquantino sat out Wednesday's 6-1 win. The day off appears to be all Pasquantino needed for the pain in his lower leg to subside, so he'll rejoin the starting nine in a non-defensive role for the series finale. Salvador Perez will get a day off behind the plate and will start at Pasquantino's usual spot at first base. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:10 am
    • Brady Singer scratched on Thursday with illness
Royals scratched Brady Singer from Thursday’s start due to illness.

Advice: It doesn’t seem like anything concerning for Singer long term, but he will miss today’s start against the Twins and may not pitch again until his next turn in the rotation. Daniel Lynch IV was called up from Triple-A Omaha to start in Singer’s place. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:51 am

    • Scratched from start due to illness
Singer has been scratched from Thursday's scheduled start against the Twins due to illness.

Advice: Daniel Lynch was recalled from Triple-A Omaha and will start Thursday in Singer's place. It's possible Singer will be ready to make a start in the coming days, though it will depend on how he bounces back from the illness. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. • Cruises to win No. 5
Burnes (5-2) earned the win over Boston on Wednesday, allowing an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out five batters over seven innings.

Advice: Burnes was splendid in the outing, yielding no extra-base hits and allowing zero earned runs for the second time in his past three starts. The right-hander's five strikeouts were mildly disappointing, but he did have his swing-and-miss stuff working with 16 whiffs in the contest. Burnes has completed at least six frames in seven straight starts and is tied for second in the league with nine quality starts on the campaign. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:22 pm

    • Three hits in loss
Castro went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Castro was in a bit of a slump -- he went 0-for-12 over the previous four games before this multi-hit effort. He had a hot stretch in late April and early May, but he's otherwise been little more than league-average at the plate. The 27-year-old is slashing .258/.332/.419 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 27 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 12 doubles and three triples through 55 games this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:01 pm
