    Melendez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.

    Advice: Melendez's fourth-inning blast gave the Royals a 4-0 lead before things turned south for them in the middle innings. May has been a rough month for Melendez, who has gone 12-for-69 (.174) with six extra-base hits over 23 contests in the month. His previous homer was April 19, and he now has five long balls on the year to go with 13 RBI, 14 runs scored, two stolen bases and a poor .176/.238/.346 slash line through 50 games.     Advice: Contreras has been held hitless just five times over 26 games in May, going 31-for-104 (.298) for the month. The catcher is up to a .323/.394/.509 slash line with eight home runs, four steals, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored, 15 doubles and a triple in 55 contests, so this month has actually been a bit of a cooling off compared to how he started the season.     Connor Wong went 2-for-4 and scored the Red Sox’ lone run in Wednesday night’s loss to the Orioles.

    Advice: Wong smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the opening inning and took second on a throwing error by Colton Cowser. He then went to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored the game’s first run on a ground ball off the bat of Dominic Smith. That would be the extent of the Red Sox’ offense though.
