    • Jose Miranda ties record with hit in 12 straight at-bats
Jose Miranda went 2-for-3 with one RBI in a 9-3 win against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Miranda came into this contest having collected a hit in ten straight at-bats. After he was hit by a pitch in the first inning, he made it 11 straight at-bats with a single in the second to drive in a run. And with another base hit in the fourth inning, Miranda tied the all-time record with a hit in 12 consecutive at-bats. The streak would end with a fly out in the sixth. The 26-year-old infielder is slashing .328/.370/.531 with nine homers and 43 RBI across 262 plate appearances. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Joe Ryan strikes out eight in win against Astros
Joe Ryan allowed three runs with eight strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Ryan pitched two clean frames before a pair of doubles brought a run in to score for Houston in the third. Jon Singleton then hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Ryan worked into the sixth before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out eight on the day. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 118/16 K/BB ratio across 109 1/3 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Friday. • Out against LHP
Lowe isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Southpaw Andrew Heaney will start on the mound for Texas, so the left-handed bat of Lowe will begin Saturday's contest on the bench, opening up right field for Jonny DeLuca. Rotowire.com Today, 11:00 am

    • Josh Lowe on bench Saturday against southpaw
Josh Lowe is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rangers.

Advice: Rays manager Kevin Cash is rolling with an all right-handed lineup on Saturday afternoon against Rangers southpaw Andrew Heaney, which means Lowe will start this one on the bench. The 26-year-old corner outfielder is batting .259 (14-for-54) with three homers and six steals over his last 15 contests. Rotoworld Today, 10:35 am

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) resumes jogging on Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters that Kyle Tucker (shin) resumed jogging on Friday.

Advice: Tucker, who has been out since early June due to a right shin bruise, was able to resume hitting a couple weeks ago, and has finally resumed running again. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t going to make it back until after the upcoming Midsummer Classic, but it sounds like he’s finally starting to make some actual progress in his recovery. We don’t want to speculate wildly, but it seems like Tucker was recovering from something more serious than a mere contusion, but there’s been nothing official from the club on that front. • Goes yard again
Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Aaron Nola let a sinker catch too much of the plate in the fourth inning, and Riley drove it over the wall in center field for Atlanta's first runs of the night. The third baseman has an extra-base hit and at least one RBI in four straight games, and over his last 20 contests he's slashing .362/.438/.797 with six doubles, eight homers, 17 runs and 17 RBI. • Pilfers two bags Friday
Robert went 2-for-3 with two walks and two stolen bases in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Miami had trouble keeping Robert off the bases or preventing him from taking an extra bag when he got there, but his teammates couldn't bring him home. The 26-year-old has hit safely in eight straight games and 13 of his last 15, and over the latter stretch he's slashing .310/.394/.552 with three homers, five steals, eight RBI and 10 runs. • Jose Miranda notches hits in 10 straight at-bats
Jose Miranda finished 4-for-4 with a homer, a double and three runs scored Friday against the Astros.

Advice: Incredibly, the Twins pinch-hit for Miranda in the ninth, even though he had delivered hits in 10 consecutive at-bats, and it worked, as Austin Martin singled off Luis Contreras. Still, the Twins went on to lose anyway, Miranda is 25-for-50 in his last 13 games, raising his average from .277 to .324 and his OPS from .778 to .893. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Suarez blows save in collapse vs. Diamondbacks
Robert Suarez got just one out and gave up three runs in a blown save against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: The good news is Suarez didn’t end up with a loss because Paul Sewald was just as bad, if not worse. The bad news is, see above. Suarez was handed a big 7-2 cushion when he came in, but he gave up a grand slam to Alek Thomas — with the three inherited runners not counting against his ERA, and a two-run blast to Randal Grichuk to give Arizona an 8-7 lead. Suarez was then pulled in favor of Stephen Kolek to prevent further damage. Suarez still has an excellent 1.77 ERA and will remain the San Diego closer, but Friday night was an ugly reminder that he — and most closers — are far from infallible. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
