      Advice: Díaz has finished serving an automatic 10-game suspension handed down by the league after he was ejected back on June 23 for using an illegal foreign substance. The 30-year-old will be back in New York’s bullpen for Saturday’s contest against the Pirates. According to Newsday’s Tim Healey, the Mets’ bullpen recorded a league-worst 8.37 ERA during his absence.       Advice: Smith hit just two homers in June, so he's already off to a fantastic start in July.       Advice: Three homers is a lot. Smith hit two of his dingers off Aaron Civale, and he took Bryan Hudson deep for his third roundtripper of the contest and the 14th of the season. On top of those homers, Smith also drew two walks. Smith continues to be among — of not the — best catchers in the sport and is slashing a strong .276/.349/.502 with 53 RBI.       Severino (5-3) took the loss against the Pirates on Friday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Severino surrendered four runs on three homers between the fourth and fifth innings. He was pulled after loading the bases to open the seventh, and all three of those runners scored on a grand slam after his departure. Severino yielded nine hard-hit balls Friday and has allowed six long balls and 17 earned runs over his past four outings.
