    • Belts homer Friday
Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk Friday in a 7-1 victory versus Arizona.

Advice: Machado accounted for the Padres' final two runs in the victory with his fifth-inning blast. The homer extended his hitting streak to five games, though he's notched exactly one hit in each contest and is batting just .238 during that stretch. Machado does have six RBI during the hitting streak, though, which is more than he had accumulated in his previous 20 games combined. Rotowire.com Today, 11:29 am

    • Secures first win
Soriano (1-4) earned the win Friday against the Guardians, surrendering five hits and a walk while striking out three batters across six scoreless innings.

Advice: Friday was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Soriano, who gave up four runs in 1.2 innings during his previous start against Minnesota. He rarely found himself in trouble versus Cleveland aside from the fifth inning, when the Guardians had runners on second and third base with one out, but a well-timed groundout followed by a walk and a strikeout allowed Soriano to maintain his shutout. He'll carry a 3.77 ERA and 1.29 WHIP heading into his next projected start Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 am

    • Blows save in extras
Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani. However, since the automatic runner scored, the Atlanta closer escaped Friday night without a hit to his ERA, which now stands at 2.03 over 13.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm
    • Manny Machado swats two-run HR in victory
Manny Machado hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Machado extended the Padres’ lead to 7-0 with a two-run shot in the fifth. The third baseman also drew a walk, and it helps his improve his slash to .250/.306/.403 over 124 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:25 pm

    • José Soriano fires six scoreless to beat Guardians
José Soriano delivered a strong performance in Friday night’s victory over the Guardians, allowing just five hits over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler punched out three batters on the evening while allowing one base on balls. All five of the hits that he allowed were singles. The only real threat against him came in the fifth inning as the Guardians put runners at first and third with one out, but he got Brayan Rocchio on a comebacker to the mound and ultimately retired Andres Gimenez on strikes to end the threat. Soriano got 10 whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll attempt to further improve upon his 3.77 ERA and 1.29 WHIP when he does battle against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:33 pm

    • Anthony Rizzo delivers walk-off winner on Friday
Anthony Rizzo smacked an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning on Friday night, propelling the Yankees to a 2-1 walk-off victory over the Tigers.

Advice: The Yankees had come up empty through eight innings against Reese Olson and a host of Tigers’ relievers. They finally got the bats going in the ninth though, as Aaron Judge singled, Alex Verdugo dropped down a bunt single and Giancarlo Stanton smacked an RBI double to start the inning. Rizzo then followed by poking a ball through the drawn in infield to walk it off. The 34-year-old slugger finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now hitting .256/.324/.403 with five homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Pete Fairbanks ready to start rehab on Tuesday
Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Advice: The 30-year-old hurler has been out since April 22 due to a nerve-related condition that caused him difficulty in gripping the baseball. He should only need an outing or two there before he’s ready to rejoin the Rays’ bullpen. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:27 pm

    • Limited session coming Saturday
Snell (thigh) will throw around 50 pitches Saturday during a bullpen session, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Manager Bob Melvin said if all goes well, the team will make a decision on whether Snell will have a rehab assignment or face hitters in live batting practice next. It was already anticipated that Snell would need more than the minimum 15 days on the injured list with his Grade 2 adductor strain, so a mid-May return is still the best-case scenario. • Rehab assignment starting soon
Fairbanks (arm) is set to begin a rehab stint at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday.

Advice: Fairbanks has been dealing with a nerve issue in his throwing arm and after receiving positive results on testing done in late April, he's set to see game action. It's unclear how long his stint in Durham will be, but once Fairbanks is back with the Rays, expect him to reclaim closing duties from Jason Adam and Garrett Cleavinger.
