Triple-A Reno reinstated Barrosa (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Monday.
Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder missed about three weeks of action during his second IL stint of the season. Barrosa previously appeared in three games for Arizona in early April, but he'll likely stick around at Reno for the foreseeable future unless the Diamondbacks outfield is hit by the injury bug. The Twins released Kemp on Monday, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Advice: Kemp had a July 1 opt-out clause in his minor-league contract and decided to exercise it. The utility player slashed .279/.358/.436 with six homers in 46 games with Triple-A St. Paul. He'll now look to latch on in another organization. Rotowire.comToday, 2:09 pm
The Reds transferred Stephenson (personal) from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list Monday.
Advice: Stephenson had been away for the last three games while on the paternity list. By rule, players can miss 3-to-7 days while on the family medical emergency list, whereas he would have to be activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the Yankees had he remained on the paternity list. Luke Maile and Austin Wynns will handle catching duties for Cincinnati while Stephenson is away. Rotowire.comToday, 2:06 pm
Advice: Kemp opted out of his deal with the Twins after hitting .279/.358/.436 in 46 games for Triple-A St Paul. His next organization will be his fourth since exiting Oakland as a free agent; he was let go by the Reds this spring and the Orioles in April. RotoworldToday, 2:06 pm
Senga (shoulder/triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Brooklyn on Wednesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Advice: Senga is slated to throw about 40 pitches in his first game appearance since he was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain back in February. The right-hander will require multiple rehab outings before returning from the 60-day injured list, but he should be able to make his first start for the Mets before the end of July if all goes well. Kodai Senga, out since the beginning of the year with a shoulder injury, will make his first rehab start Wednesday with Single-A Brooklyn.
Advice: He’s due to throw 40 pitches his first time out. The Mets haven’t announced a plan beyond that, but if all goes well, four rehab starts and return to the Mets rotation during the final week of July would seem to be a possibility. RotoworldToday, 1:56 pm
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Scott will be recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to start Wednesday versus the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Advice: While Mendoza didn't commit to Scott making additional starts in the majors beyond Wednesday, the opportunity would seem to be there for the rookie right-hander after Tylor Megill was optioned to Triple-A on Sunday. Scott holds a 3.90 ERA and 25:6 K:BB over 27.2 innings in five starts with the big club this season. Rotowire.comToday, 1:52 pm
Christian Scott will start for the Mets against the Nationals on Wednesday.
Advice: It’s unclear if this will be one and done or if Scott might get to keep the spot for a spell. He certainly deserves a long look; he had a 3.90 ERA and a 25/6 K/BB ratio in 27 2/3 innings over five starts before the Mets sent him down a month ago, and he’s since posted a 2.12 ERA in Triple-A. He’s worth playing in mixed leagues this week. RotoworldToday, 1:51 pm
Brandon Nimmo is out of Monday’s lineup after suffering a cut on his forehead when he fell in his hotel room last night.
Advice: Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like Nimmo hurt his head beyond he cut. His absence means the Mets have Jeff McNeil in the outfield and José Iglesias at second tonight. RotoworldToday, 1:48 pm
