    Advice: Rutschman had a brief cold spell a couple of weeks ago, but he's bounced back well. He's hit safely in six straight games, going 9-for-25 (.360) in that span. The catcher is slashing .304/.342/.473 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 30 runs scored and one stolen base over 54 contests this season.     Corey Crisan of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports that the Pirates plan to recall Henry Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

    Advice: Since being optioned out to Triple-A Indianapolis on May 3, Davis has hit .296 with seven homers and 17 RBI. The Pirates believe that he can breathe some life into a struggling offense, though it’s unclear how much action he’ll see behind the plate versus in the outfield.     Advice: Davis was sent down May 3 after a disappointing start to the season with the Pirates, but he's slashed .282 with seven home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base over 22 contests at Triple-A. He opened the season as Pittsburgh's primary option at catcher and he'll likely split time with Yasmani Grandal at backstop once back in the big leagues.     Atlanta optioned Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett following Sunday's 3-1 win over the Athletics.

    Advice: Tromp has seen limited usage as the No. 2 catcher behind Travis d'Arnaud for much of the season. He recently dropped to third on the depth chart behind Sean Murphy and d'Arnaud and hadn't played at all since Murphy was reinstated from the injured list Monday. The 29-year-old will now head back to Gwinnett to get regular playing time, with Atlanta set to announce a replacement for him on the 26-man active roster prior to Tuesday's series opener in Boston.     Advice: Garver entered Sunday 0-for-20 over his last seven games. His last extra-base hit was May 21, and he hadn't knocked in a run since May 17. He was able to put an end to all of those slumps, delivering a big knock in the eighth inning to give the Mariners some breathing room. The 33-year-old has struggled to get anything going at the plate this year, slashing .170/.276/.309 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored and eight doubles over 192 plate appearances as Seattle's primary designated hitter.   • Victor Caratini homers in loss to Twins
    Victor Caratini, starting behind the plate for Houston for the third time in four games, hit his fourth homer Sunday against the Twins.

    Advice: He nearly had a second; his 401-foot fly to right-center in the seventh would have been a homer in 20 ballparks, according to Statcast. We still like Yainer Díaz, but Caratini is certainly one of the game’s top-30 catchers and really should have landed a starting job as a free agent over the winter.
