    • Another timely homer Sunday
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Rafaela delivered late with a solo home run off Jared Weaver in the eighth to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead. He now has three homers and nine RBI over his last six games and has seen his hitting numbers steadily rise since early June after a slow start to the campaign. The 23-year-old is now slashing .244/.272/.417 with 11 homers, 50 RBI, 43 runs, 11 steals and an 11:87 BB:K in 325 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:42 am

    • Strong start spoiled
Gil (9-5) took the loss Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out nine over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Gil was locked into a scoreless pitcher's duel with Kutter Crawford until he gave up an opposite-field solo home run to Rafael Devers in the seventh. He retired one more batter after Devers and then exited the game and wound up with the loss after the Yankees ended up getting shut out. It was an encouraging showing for Gil nonetheless after he had surrendered 16 runs and posted a 6:9 K:BB in 9.2 innings over his prior three starts. Sunday was also the first time the 26-year-old managed to not walk a batter all year and the first time he reached six innings since June 4. Gil will look to generate one more strong start before the All-Star break and currently lines up to face the Orioles in Baltimore over the weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 6:34 am

    • Goes deep Sunday
Profar went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 9-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar's first inning blast was the only run the Padres were able to muster up on the afternoon. He's now homered in three of his last four games and has an RBI in four straight. The 31-year-old also has at least a hit in 18 of his last 19 games and has continuously shown to be one of the top hitters in baseball this season. Profar is now slashing .315/.408/.498 with 14 homers, 59 RBI, 52 runs and a 46:56 BB:K in 372 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am
    • Charged with blown save
Stanek blew the save Sunday against Toronto, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Stanek took the mound in the seventh inning, inheriting a pair of runners with no outs and a 4-1 lead. After striking out Kevin Kiermaier, Stanek surrendered a three-run home run to George Springer, tying the game and resulting in the blown save. Stanek briefly took closing duties from Andres Munoz in mid June while Munoz dealt with a back injury, but Stanek has since yielded ninth-inning work to Munoz. Rotowire.com Today, 12:51 am

    • Allows rare run
Clase earned a save over the Giants on Sunday. He gave up a run on one hit in one inning of work.

Advice: Clase coughed up an out-of-character run on a Michael Conforto groundout. Clase was still able to close out the 5-4 win and pick up his 27th save of the year. He's given up just four earned runs through 42.1 innings this season, resulting in a 0.85 ERA. Sunday's outing snapped a nine-inning scoreless streak. Clase has converted 14 straight save chances and is 27 for 30 in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:43 pm
    • Ceddanne Rafaela goes deep as Red Sox top Yankees
Ceddanne Rafaela went 1-for-3 and belted a solo homer on Sunday night as the Red Sox eked out a victory over the Yankees in New York.

Advice: The versatile 23-year-old delivered a valuable insurance run with a two-out, 412-foot (106.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Luke Weaver in the eighth inning that increased the Red Sox’ lead to 2-0. On the season, he’s now hitting .244/.272/.417 with 11 long balls, 50 RBI and 11 stolen bases through his first 87 ballgames. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:34 pm

    • Luis Gil fans nine Red Sox in tough-luck loss
Luis Gil was outstanding in a tough-luck loss against the Red Sox on Sunday night, racking up nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 26-year-old hurler scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel with Kutter Crawford until he served up an opposite-field solo homer to Rafael Devers in the seventh inning. Gil generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches in the ballgame — seven on his fastball and six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine outing and finish the first half strong as he brings a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 111/48 K/BB ratio (96 1/3 innings) into a tough matchup against the Orioles in Baltimore on Saturday. • Live BP up next
Williams (back) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday at American Family Field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Williams began throwing off a mound in late June, and it didn't take long for him to be cleared to face live hitters. The right-hander will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list, though it's unclear how many outings he might need. The Brewers have been eyeing the July 30 trade deadline as a general target date for Williams' return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Christian Yelich homers, plates three to lead Crew
Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, three runs scored and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Brewers to a 9-2 rout of the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Advice: Yelich opened the scoring in Sunday’s contest with a 418-foot (107.2 mph EV) two-run blast off of rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski in the fourth inning. He then singled and scored on a two-run knock by Blake Perkins in the eighth inning. Yelich also tacked on an RBI double in the ninth and scored on a double by Garrett Mitchell. He’s having an outstanding season in the middle of the Brewers’ lineup, slashing .329/.407/.533 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm
