    • Sits out Sunday with back issue
Fairchild was out of the lineup for Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Tigers due to a back injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Fairchild played all nine innings of Saturday's 5-3 loss, but he apparently picked up the back injury at some point along the way. Though the Reds are seemingly viewing Fairchild as day-to-day, his injury coupled with Nick Martini's (thumb) move to the 10-day injured list perhaps explains why the Reds dealt reliever Alex Young to the Giants on Sunday in exchange for outfielder Austin Slater. Fairchild has been serving as the Reds' primary option in center field in place of TJ Friedl (hamstring), who looks to be about a week or two away from coming off the 10-day IL. • Shipped to Cincinnati
The Reds acquired Slater and cash considerations from the Giants on Sunday in exchange for left-handed pitcher Alex Young, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Advice: Slater will head to Cincinnati after producing a disappointing .200/.330/.244 slash line with one home run, nine RBI, 12 runs scored and two stolen bases over 112 plate appearances in 43 games with the Giants this season. With Will Benson struggling to a .187/.275/.365 slash line while striking out 40.1 percent of his plate appearances on the season, Slater could be called on to replace him in Cincinnati's everyday outfield moving forward, or at least platoon with him. In addition to Benson's ongoing struggles, the Reds are woefully shorthanded in the outfield at the moment with Nick Martini (thumb) joining TJ Friedl (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Sunday and with Stuart Fairchild missing Sunday's loss to the Tigers with a back injury. Jake Fraley (personal) also remains on the family medical emergency list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm

    • IL stint likely
Meadows's hamstring injury is likely to place him on the 10-day IL, Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press reports. "I don't love what I heard from the get-go in talking to him and our trainers," manager A.J. Hinch said. "We'll get him evaluated. It's something with the hamstring. That's always alarming."

Advice: Meadows was likely to be a significant free agent target this weekend after going 4-for-11 with a double, a homer and a stolen base in three games since being called back up from Triple-A Toledo, but this news will chill pending bids, especially in fantasy leagues where there are no IL slots. Matt Vierling will likely shift back to center field while Meadows is sidelined. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 pm

    • Shohei Ohtani swipes two bags in loss to Brewers
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-5 and stole a pair of bases as the Dodgers fell to the Brewers on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Advice: Ohtani smacked a one-out single off of Dallas Keuchel in the third inning then proceeded to swipe second and third base before getting stranded there. He has now eclipsed the 20-steal plateau for the third time in his career and has already matched his total from the 2023 season. The 30-year-old superstar is slashing .314/.399/.637 with 28 homers, 65 RBI and 20 stolen bases through his first 88 games with the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm

    • Chris Taylor socks two-run dinger in loss Sunday
Chris Taylor socked a two-run dinger on Sunday as the Dodgers fell to the Brewers in Los Angeles.

Advice: The 33-year-old utilityman got the Dodgers on the board in the sixth inning with a 403-foot (106.1 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jakob Junis. That would turn out to be the extent of their offense. Taylor also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the afternoon 1-for-3. He has struggled for the most part this season — slashing a mere .155/.262/.256 with three homers and 14 RBI in 150 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm

    • Expects to play Monday
Correa (finger) expects to be in the lineup Monday versus the White Sox, Audra Martin of Bally Sports North reports.

Advice: Correa exited Sunday's 3-2 win over Houston with a bruised right finger in the first inning, but he explained to Martin after the game that he doesn't expect the injury to sideline him moving forward. The shortstop will look to bring his expectation to fruition in Monday's series opener on the road against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:40 pm

    • Carlos Correa (finger) expects to play on Monday
Carlos Correa (finger) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to return to the Twins’ starting lineup on Monday.

Advice: Correa was pulled from Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch, but fortunately X-rays came back negative for any structural damage and he’s merely dealing with a right finger contusion. If the 29-year-old shortstop says that he’s good enough to play on Monday, then chances are he’ll be in the Twins’ lineup for their series opener against the White Sox in Chicago. • Stuart Fairchild held out with back issue Sunday
Reds’ manager David Bell told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Tigers that Stuart Fairchild was held out of the team’s lineup due to a back issue.

Advice: It doesn’t sound like anything serious that’s going to require a stint on the injured list, but it’s something that fantasy managers should at least monitor heading into next week. The 28-year-old outfielder should be considered day-to-day for the time being. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:32 pm

    • Managing hamstring issue
Meadows was removed from Sunday's win against the Reds due to a right hamstring injury, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Meadows went 1-for-3 with walk and an RBI but exited the contest after he suffered the injury while being thrown out on an attempted steal of second base. The 24-year-old has started the past three games in center field after being recalled by the Tigers on Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:24 pm
