    • Clubs eighth homer
Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The slugging third baseman took Lance Lynn deep in the fifth inning, but it was the only extra-base hit Atlanta managed on the night. Riley is having one of his patented hot streaks, launching five of his eight homers on the season over the last 10 games while slashing .441/.513/1.000 with four doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs. • Fans 11 in victory
Ragans (5-5) earned the win over Miami on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 batters over six innings.

Advice: Ragans racked up 27 swings-and-misses -- the most by any pitcher in baseball this season -- en route to his first win since May 22. Despite the five-game stretch of starts without a victory, the southpaw has been pitching well, as he posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB during the drought. Ragans' 11 punchouts Monday were his second-most this season, and he ranks third in MLB with 120 strikeouts on the campaign. He is also tied for third in the majors with 12 quality starts. • Goes deep in loss
Cruz went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's loss to the Reds.

Advice: Cruz drove in one run in the fifth inning before capping off his night with a two-run blast in the seventh. It was his 11th home run of the year, with four of those coming this month. He was stuck in a 2-for-19 skid (.105) over his previous six games since his last multi-hit performance June 16. Cruz now owns a .243/.296/.433 slash line with 34 RBI and 27 extra-base hits through 284 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:53 pm

    • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Riley belts fifth home run in last 10 games
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Riley’s home run was his eighth of the season. He belted a solo shot off Cardinals starter Lance Lynn in the fifth inning. Riley is heating up after a slow start to the season. In his last 10 games, he’s 15-for-34 (.441) with five home runs and 10 RBI. Riley is hitting just .251 with a .745 OPS on the season, but could provide first round level production the rest of the way. Rotoworld Monday, 7:26 pm

    • Oneil Cruz homers, drives in three in losing effort
Oneil Cruz went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday in the Pirates’ lopsided defeat at the hands of the Reds.

Advice: Cruz was one of the few bright spots for Pittsburgh in this one as he drove in a run with a fifth-inning ground out before slugging a gargantuan 458-foot moonshot — his 11th big fly of the season — a couple frames later off Reds reliever Fernando Cruz. The 25-year-old shortstop has been scuffling at the dish in recent weeks, batting .216 (25-for-116) with four homers and three steals over his last 30 games. He’s also struck out a whopping 40 times during that span. The flashes of dynamic game-changing talent are still there on occasion, but Cruz remains a bit of a work in progress at the moment. • Bryan Woo to undergo MRI on ailing hamstring
Bryan Woo will undergo an MRI on his right hamstring on Tuesday.

Advice: Woo didn’t speak after the game. That he’s going for an MRI suggests that even if he gets good news, he’s still going to miss some time. Woo was pulled from his start Monday in the fourth after hurting his leg while throwing a pitch. Rotoworld Monday, 7:07 pm

    • Bryan Woo exits due to hamstring tightness
Bryan Woo exited his start Monday with right hamstring tightness, according to the Mariners.

Advice: Everything is tightness initially now, so that seemingly positive diagnosis means nothing at the moment. If Woo needs to miss some time, but Mariners might go to Jhonathan Diaz in the rotation. Emerson Hancock is the usual fallback, but he’s dealing with a back problem at the moment. • Nursing hamstring injury
Woo was removed from Monday's game against the Rays due to right hamstring tightness.

Advice: Woo left his start with the team trainer after suffering what looked to be a right leg injury, and he's since been diagnosed with a hamstring issue. The team should have a better idea of whether he'll require a trip to the injured list after further evaluation, and he's set to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.
