Roupp worked 2.2 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Dodgers, giving up three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Advice: Heading into Sunday, Roupp had been residing on Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list, but he had made three rehab appearances in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Rather than having him slot back into the Sacramento rotation Sunday, the Giants instead called him up from the minors to provide a fresh arm in the bullpen. Roupp ended up piggybacking starter Spencer Bivens, who tossed five innings of one-run ball before leaving the game. With the rotation having been hit hard by injuries lately, the Giants could have two openings during the upcoming week, but Bivens pitched well enough to earn one of those spots. Roupp could be an option for the other spot if Kyle Harrison (ankle) isn't ready to return from the 15-day injured list by the weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 11:48 am
    • Reid Detmers strikes out 11 in Triple-A start
Reid Detmers allowed three runs on four hits in six innings while striking out 11 for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Advice: Detmers now has 21 strikeouts in his last two games, which is the good news. The bad news is that he has allowed eight runs in 12 innings over those two starts. The swing-and-miss is nice to see, but Detmers will undoubtedly need to do more to incentivize the Angels to call him back up. Rotoworld Today, 11:39 am
    • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Giants outrighted Burgos to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Burgos made just one appearance for San Francisco before losing his place on its 40-man roster. He will stick around in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Rotowire.com Today, 11:37 am
    • Brewers designate Owen Miller for assignment
Brewers designated INF/OF Owen Miller for assignment.

Advice: With Garrett Mitchell coming off the 60-day IL, the Brewers needed an extra spot on the 40-man roster, so they decided to move on from Miller, who had been sent to Triple-A at the end of May. Miller had started the year strong for Milwaukee but is hitting just .185 on the season with a 39 percent strikeout rate. He’ll hope to get a shot with another organization. Rotoworld Today, 11:37 am

    • Sent outright to Triple-A
The Giants outrighted Brooks to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Brooks passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. The first baseman went 3-for-25 at the plate during his time with the Giants before he was moved off the 40-man roster. Rotowire.com Today, 11:36 am
    • Brewers send Tyler Black to minors (again)
Brewers optioned INF Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Black got his second chance with the Brewers this season but rarely played, going 3-for-11 and sitting this entire week before being demoted to make room for Garrett Mitchell to come off the IL. Black has the tolls to be a useful fantasy player, but he might not get the opportunity this season. Rotoworld Today, 11:31 am

    • Fans 11 in minor-league start
Detmers tossed six innings for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out 11 batters.

Advice: Detmers was optioned to Triple-A on June 1 after a series of poor starts with the Angels. His first minor-league outing since 2022 didn't go well, as he gave up seven runs over five frames in a June 7 start versus Sugar Land. The southpaw has improved since, and over his past two outings with Salt Lake he's struck out 21 hitters across 12 frames, though he's also surrendered eight earned runs over that stretch. Overall, Detmers has logged a 5.70 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB across 30 frames through five starts in the minors. Angels pitching coach Barry Enright said last week that Detmers was "trending in the right direction" in terms of improvement when addressing how the club will fill the rotation spot of Patrick Sandoval, who has since been ruled out for the season after undergoing an internal brace procedure to repair the UCL in his pitching elbow. That said, it's unclear what the team's plans are for Detmers moving forward. The Angels rotation has had a lot of moving parts of late -- in addition to Sandoval's injury, Zach Plesac was demoted to Triple-A on Saturday, Jose Soriano (abdomen) is slated to return from the injured list Tuesday, and Davis Daniel was promoted from the minors to make his first start of the season last Thursday. In addition, Roansy Contreras was moved from the bullpen to make a spot start last Wednesday and is slated to get another turn in the rotation this coming Thursday versus Oakland. • Scratched from lineup
Guerrero was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros due to right fourth/fifth finger discomfort, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Guerrero was hit in the right hand by a pitch in the third inning Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Yankees and was ultimately removed from the contest in the bottom of the eighth. While he was initially slated to play Monday in the series opener versus the Astros, some lingering soreness will ultimately prevent him from doing so. X-rays on the hand returned negative, and Guerrero is considered day-to-day. Ernie Clement will enter the lineup as a replacement for Guerrero, manning third base and batting ninth. • Exits 40-man roster
The Brewers designated Miller for assignment Monday.

Advice: The 27-year-old has spent most of his time this season in the minors, having slashed just .185/.185/.222 across 27 plate appearances during his time in the majors in 2024. Miller offers some defensive versatility and has flashed at times offensively, so it's possible he draws some interest via trade or waivers. Rotowire.com Today, 9:47 am
