    • Corey Seager (hand) able to swing a bat on Tuesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Corey Seager remains day-to-day with a left hand contusion.

Advice: Bochy added that Seager is doing better after being hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game and was able to progress to swinging a bat again. Although he’s not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres it certainly sounds like he has a shot at getting back into game action at some point in the coming days. • Starting Tuesday
Ward (head) is starting in left field and batting third Tuesday following being hit in the head Sunday.

Advice: Ward departed Sunday's game versus the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning after being struck by a pitch in the head, a 93 mph fastball thrown by Shelby Miller. Ward's removal from the game has now proved to be more of a precautionary move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:54 pm

    • Garrett Mitchell batting fifth on Tuesday night
Garrett Mitchell is in center field and batting fifth on Tuesday against the Rockies.

Advice: Mitchell came off the bench on Monday to reach base safely in two of his three plate appearances in his season debut. The 25-year-old outfielder still has some serious contact issues to address, but there’s definitely some power/speed combo intrigue here, if he manages to somewhat put it all together at the highest level. The fact that he’s missed so much time over the last few years due to injuries certainly amplifies the risk here. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm
    • Absent from lineup
Hoskins isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: After recording a base hit in 10 of his last 11 games, Hoskins was held to 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly during Monday's loss in the series opener. He'll now sit against Ryan Feltner and the Rockies on Tuesday, putting Jake Bauers at first base while Christian Yelich serves as the Brewers' DH, opening a spot in left field for Jackson Chourio. • Finds new home
Trejo was signed by the Dodgers to a minor league contract Tuesday and is with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Trejo cleared waivers Saturday after being designated for assignment by the Rockies. He refused an outright assignment, so he became a free agent. The infielder was 9-for-63 with Colorado this season and had posted a 61 OPS+ in four seasons. Rotowire.com Today, 2:40 pm

    • Idle Tuesday
Ortiz isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Tuesday's game versus Colorado.

Advice: Ortiz was held hitless in five at-bats during his return to the lineup Monday after missing the Brewers' last three games due to a neck injury. He'll get a day to regroup Tuesday while Andruw Monasterio starts at the hot corner and bats ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:35 pm

    • Not starting Tuesday
Amaya isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Amaya will take a seat Tuesday after going just 1-for-10 at the plate over his last four games. Tomas Nido will start at catcher instead while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:32 pm

    • Jettisoned by Oakland
The Athletics designated Diaz for assignment Tuesday.

Advice: Diaz has gone just 3-for-29 in 12 games with the A's this season, and his poor performance has now officially caused him to lose his 40-man roster spot. The 33-year-old owns just a .621 OPS over 32 plate appearances in the minors this season, making it likely he passes through waivers unclaimed. Brett Harris was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:14 pm

    • Returns to majors
The Athletics recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: Since being optioned to Triple-A in late May, Harris has slashed .366/.458/.659 with three homers and nine RBI in 11 games. He'll now get another chance to prove himself in the big leagues after the A's pushed Aledmys Diaz off their 40-man roster Tuesday. Harris started exclusively at third base during his previous stint with Oakland, where he'll now likely have to compete with Tyler Nevin for playing time until Abraham Toro (hamstring) returns from the IL.
