    Advice: While the outing was Sanchez's first start since 2020, he operated in an opening capacity, being yanked after 59 pitches. He was shaky in the first inning, giving up a walk to Ronald Acuna and a single to Michael Harris to open up the game. With runners on first and third, Sanchez inexplicably tried a pick-off move to second base, allowing Acuna to score on a balk for the first score of a two-run inning. After giving up a run in each of his first four appearances this season, Sanchez looked to be turning the corner, posting three consecutive scoreless outings before Wednesday's poor start.     Advice: Gelof's injury was initially described as "left abdominal soreness" and caused him to be scratched from Oakland's lineup prior to Wednesday's game. However, his injury now appears to be more severe than initially thought, and it will likely cause him to land on the injured list. Should the 24-year-old second baseman have to miss an extended period of time, Abraham Toro, who filled in for Gelof on Wednesday, will likely see consistent reps at second base.     Advice: Vest has been mostly good so far this season, though his ERA climbed from 1.64 to 3.75 with this clunker. The righty turned in a 2.98 ERA across 48 games last year, so this poor performance will likely just be a blip on the radar. Vest should remain locked into a high-leverage setup role for the Tigers, but his fantasy value is somewhat limited because he's not seeing save opportunities at the moment.     Advice: With Gio Urshela (hamstring) and Andy Ibanez (hamstring) both on the injured list, Vierling has been seeing regular time at third base recently. He's now batting a solid .273, and the 27-year-old will retain decent fantasy value as long he's starting most days. It remains to be seen what the Tigers will do when Urshela or Ibanez returns, though Vierling will likely shift into a utility role, as he's capable of playing in the outfield as well as at the hot corner. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time leaving the yard since April 14.     Brent Rooker blasted a three-run homer on Wednesday in the Athletics’ loss to the Yankees.

    Advice: There weren’t a ton of positives for the Athletics on Wednesday night in New York, but Rooker was one of them. He took Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt deep in the sixth inning for his fifth round-tripper of the season, and also drew a pair of walks, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. It was his sixth round-tripper of the year. It was the first time he’s gone deep in five games since April 19. The 25-year-old generational talent holds a robust .319/.431/.564 triple-slash line with 17 runs scored, six homers, 22 RBI and one steal across 116 plate appearances in his Yankees debut.
