Wenceel Perez leads Tigers past Twins on Friday
Wenceel Perez went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI on Friday night, leading the Tigers to a 5-4 victory over the Twins in Minnesota.
Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder tied up the score at 2-2 in the third inning with an RBI single off of Joe Ryan. He then swiped second base and dashed around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI single by Kerry Carpenter. He then led off the sixth inning with a triple off of Ryan and once again scored on a Carpenter single. With two outs in the ninth inning, the Twins opted to walk Mark Canha intentionally to face Perez, who responded by delivering an RBI single to center that gave the Tigers the 5-4 advantage. He has been great in his limited action so far, hitting .313/.353/.500 with two RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 17 plate appearances.
