    • Evan Carter sits against another southpaw Friday
Evan Carter is once again on the Rangers’ bench against an opposing southpaw on Friday night.

Advice: It’s the third time this week that the Rangers have faced a left-handed starter, and the third time that the 21-year-old outfielder has found himself on the bench. Ezequiel Duran will start in his place in left field and will bat seventh against Austin Gomber and the Rockies at Coors Field. Rotoworld Today, 2:48 pm

    • On bench for third straight game
Chourio is absent from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Cardinals.

Advice: In three games since Christian Yelich returned from the injured list, Chourio has been out of the lineup each time, although he did get a couple plate appearances off the bench Wednesday. Yelich, Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins certainly appear to be above Chourio in the outfield pecking order right now, and Jake Bauers might be, as well. The 20-year-old rookie is slashing just .205/.275/.397 in his first 25 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 1:46 pm

    • Out of starting lineup
Julien is not a starter for Friday's matchup against the Blue Jays.

Advice: The left-batting infielder infielder will get a break as southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound for Toronto. Kyle Farmer will start at second base and bat seventh in place of Julien. Rotowire.com Today, 1:44 pm

    • On bench Friday
Stott is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Miami.

Advice: Stott will defer to Whit Merrifield at second base with a lefty (Trevor Rogers) on the mound for Miami. Stott is slashing .250/.344/.389 through 128 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:59 pm

    • Two extra-base hits
Tovar went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Giants.

Advice: Tovar has been struggling to hit for power across the last few weeks, as he had only three extra-base hits (all doubles) across his last 21 starts entering Thursday's game. He managed to end that drought against the Giants, as he tallied both a double and a triple in the fourth inning when the Rockies batted around. For the season, Tovar has a decent .714 OPS, though that's come with a relatively empty three homers and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 am

    • Improves to 4-0
Blanco (4-0) earned the win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Blanco was a bit shaky with his control, as he threw just 62 of 107 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes. However, he allowed just one extra-base hit -- an Anthony Volpe two-run homer that accounted for both runs against him. Blanco thus improved his perfect record to 4-0 on the season, and he's allowed three or fewer runs in all seven of his starts. He's also recorded five quality starts on the campaign, falling one out shy in each of his two outings during which he hasn't met that mark. Blanco has cemented his place in Houston's rotation with a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB through 44.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:04 pm
    • Ronel Blanco goes 5 2/3 frames to beat Yankees
Ronel Blanco allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Yankees.

Advice: Blanco generated 13 swinging strikes, and finished with five strikeouts, but also battled control issues throughout this one, handing out four free passes as well. He managed to limit New York’s formidable lineup to just a two-run homer by Anthony Volpe into the middle innings, which was enough to hang on for his fourth win of the year. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41/20 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings (seven starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Tuesday against the Athletics. • Three-hit game for Ezequiel Tovar against Giants
Ezequiel Tovar picked up three hits and scored a run in a victory over the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Tovar singled twice and also doubled. The RBI came on that double in the fourth inning, and he’s up to eight two-baggers with 13 RBI over the first 36 games of 2024. Tovar still has work to be done, but at the age of 22, he’s got time to figure it all out. A .269/.314/.400 slash gives you an idea of what he’s capable of in the coming seasons. • Jackson Chourio not in Thursday’s lineup
Jackson Chourio is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Chourio has shown some signs of life with six hits in 19 at-bats over his last seven contests, but he’ll take a seat to open Thursday’s contest with Christian Yelich back in left field, Sal Frelick in center and Jake Bauers in right. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:14 pm
