    • Logs seven total bases off bench
Heyward went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a triple in a 10-3 win against the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Heyward didn't start the contest, but he was called upon to pinch hit for Andy Pages in the eighth inning and smacked a triple before eventually coming around to score. The veteran outfielder got another at-bat in the ninth and came through with a solo homer to right-center field. Since returning from a lengthy stay on the injured list May 17, Heyward has slashed .231/.310/.538 with a pair of homers, three RBI, four runs and a stolen base over 29 plate appearances. • Goes deep Wednesday
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was his first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 38 RBI, 41 runs, 13 stolen bases and a .330/.395/.615 slash line through 248 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:17 am

    • Homer, stolen base in win
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, an additional RBI, a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-1 victory over the Giants.

Advice: He got the Phillies started with an opposite-field homer off Kyle Harrison to lead off the first inning. Schwarber drove in a second run with a base hit in the eighth, extending Philadelphia's lead to 5-0. It's the third straight two-hit game for Schwarber -- he's gone 6-for-12 with two homers, four RBI and two steals in that span. He's boosted his slash line to .246/.369/.425 with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 43 runs scored across 55 games while going 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:15 am

    • Braves place A.J. Minter on IL
Braves placed LHP A.J. Minter on the 15-day IL with left hip inflammation.

Advice: Minter struggled at the beginning of the month but is coming off five straight scoreless appearances to lower his season-long ERA to 2.95. There is no indication yet how long Minter will be sidelined, but the Braves will likely turn to Aaron Bummer as their main lefty out of the bullpen in the meantime. Righty Jimmy Herget was called up in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:38 am

    • Out with hip injury
Atlanta placed Minter on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left hip inflammation.

Advice: Minter tossed a scoreless inning in Wednesday's win over the Nationals but evidently must have injured his hip during the appearance. The left-hander will be eligible to return from the IL on June 14, although it's not yet clear whether he will be ready for activation at that time. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:25 am

    • Goes deep in loss
Happ went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Happ is 5-for-15 over his last four games, and three of those hits have left the yard. The outfielder had only two home runs across 47 games before this recent hot streak, but he blasted 20 or more long balls in two of the last three seasons, so it wouldn't be surprising to see his power production continue to trend upward. • Ian Happ goes yard in loss to Brewers
Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Happ took Bryse Wilson deep to right field for a solo homer in the second inning to put the Cubs on the board. He then led off the fourth with a base hit and scored on a groundout before bringing a run in with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The 29-year-old outfielder is slashing .226/.329/.376 with five homers, 28 runs scored, and two steals across 216 plate appearances. His underlying stats have all nearly matched his 2023 season with the exception of his strikeout rate, which is up to 28 percent after posting a 22 percent mark last season. • Shohei Ohtani homers, plates three in blowout win
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday in the Dodgers’ lopsided win over the Mets.

Advice: Ohtani extended Los Angeles’ early lead with a fifth-inning RBI single before clobbering a two-run homer -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- off Mets reliever Jorge López in the eighth inning. The 29-year-old two-way superstar holds an astronomical 1.010 OPS in his Dodgers debut so far. That’ll work. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:28 pm

    • Kyle Schwarber orders combo meal in Phillies’ win
Kyle Schwarber walloped a leadoff homer and also stole a base on Wednesday, propelling the Phillies to a 6-1 victory over the Giants.

Advice: Schwarber delivered a tone-setting blast to left-center field right out of the gate against Giants starter Kyle Harrison before reaching on a fielder’s choice and stealing second base a couple frames later. The 31-year-old slugger also added an RBI single in the eighth inning as well to put the cherry on top of a multi-hit performance at Oracle Park, which is one of the toughest ballparks in the league for left-handed batters.
